We really liked people watching and seeing the light show! I wouldn’t really say that it is a family friendly event other than the zipline or the light show after dark. Lots of people selling stuff and partially dressed.

We went to do the zip line. We payed in advance. Prepare to wait an hour though as it’s busy. Don’t be soft, do the high long wire. It’s great. Music plays all over the place. Street performers and to be honest anything goes. You will witness a lot !! But as the night goes on it just gets better and loader. I ordered two vodka and lemonade. Was expecting two pints !!you will end up dancing. It’s really lively with lots of weird people. Loads of fun

Used to love to visit old town. Locals talk about a lot of crime and to stay under the awning of lights and not to wonder outside that area... especially after dark. Now there’s lots of semi nude male and females doing pictures for money. Some 70 year old man and his 50yo son in thongs, females with pasties n thongs, a lot of vendors set up selling junk. Not a family oriented place. We go once a year just for the Hugo cellar steak dinner, expensive but worth it if you’ve never been.

We had a lot of fun walking around, people watching and enjoying the whole spectacle and little spectacles on a TUESDAY night (!!), dinner with a people-watching view (including, of course, an Elvis impersonator) and great drinks at Oak&Ivy to start in Container Park, East Fremont Avenue. Fremont is much more affordable and compact than the Strip. There's zip lining, dancing girls, dancing half clad cowboys, strange "entertainers' like the woman standing on glass, an 80s big hair cover band, acrobatics...it goes on. All under a whole bunch of lights! The casinos are smaller and much more modest than the Strip - I don't gamble so I can't say more than that. I assume the buy in's are less too. Drinks and food are much cheaper on Fremont too.
