“Relaxing stay”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 25 January 2012

Desert Paradise is just outside the hubbub of downtown Las Vegas. For me and my family that was nice. The resort was clean and had everything for our needs. The staff was friendly and helpful.

Room Tip: Stay in the center, but away from the pool pump.

This is second time we have stayed here, very nice. We alway rent a car so it doesnt bother us that it isnt on the strip. Staff is always helpful and they have a computer room for use so you can check email and print return tickets for free. They have a free paper each morning in the lobby. Very nice place.

Desert Paradise is a timeshare property owned and operated by Diamond Resorts International. This means you will be able to choose from Studios, 1-bedroom or 2-bedroom condos, which come fully furnished and with a fully equipped kitchen including stove, fridge, coffee-maker etc.
I booked a 2-bedroom condo for me and my friends and we loved it. The rooms were well maintained and spotlessly clean. The unit came with pool towels prepared and had an extra room with a washing machine and a drier - how convenient! Staff was very friendly and helpful. The property is gated and to enter at night you need a pin code which changes regularly which made us feel safe, even though the neighbourhood didn't look too bad anyways. The resort also offers two pool areas. One for kids including a waterfall and one for adults with a bbq-area. The building housing the lobby also offers a concergie service, a gaming room (with a pool table, a DVD collection and a card table) and a courtesy area where you can get snacks from vending machines and free coffee and tea all day.
The only downside is the distance from Las Vegas Boulevard, which wasn't a problem for us, since we were focusing more on relaxation than gambling. We will definitely come back!

We stayed at the Desert Paradise Resort for a week beginning November 25. We had rented a car because we had planned a trip to the Valley of Fire and Hoover Dam. We loved it. The room was very clean and recently redone. The one bedroom worked out to be large enough for four of us. The pools were nice as well as the hot tubs. We thought it would be hard (and expensive) to find parking on the strip but it was so easy and free! We never got caught in traffic and drove to whatever casino we wanted. We only paid for parking on Freemont St. (under $5). The location was really nice, out of all the confusion of strip but close when we wanted to go there. Good location for getting to Valley of Fire and the Dam, downtown and the outlets too.

We have stayed twice at this Diamond property and loved it. The one bedroom suite is very spacious and the faciilities are good for low key people. We could walk to several smaller casinos, restayrants and a cool international food market. You can take shuttles to the strip and other destinations to avoid driving. The Place is not far at all from the main strip and you can drive in in about 10-15 minutes tops.

We recently stayed at this timeshare resort. We found our 2 bedroom, 2 bath unit very accomodating. There was a washer and dryer which we found helpful. The kitchen was well equipped. We didn't have a car which posed a problem as the resort is quite a distance from the strip. We used the complimentary shuttle (which has limited runs to the strip) and the city bus. We never did find a nearby grocery, Walgreens for the basics.
We didn't use the pool but it looked very nice.
Overall I would recommend this resort especially if you had a car.

Room Tip: Buildings are 2 stories, I would recommend asking for the 2nd story as they have private balconies.

On our resent trip to Las Vegas we decided to try something different and stay off the strip. We are so glad we made the decision. From the point of check in to departure the staff were fantastic (polite, friendly, professional and very helpful). The amenities were wonderful and the unit was spacious and very well equiped. This property is perfect for a family or group of people. We would definately recommed this property and stay again if we are in Vegas.
