My rating is 3.5 "good" for these reasons: (1) clean, spacious suite with full kitchen & luxury bathroom (jacuzzi tub and separate large shower, two sinks). Pullout sofa was comfortable for teenage daughter. (2) large lobby with decent food options and free computer/printer. (3) Large, well-equipped gym. (4) Location. One block off Strip but still close enough to walk to all events (e.g. Cirque du Soleil, wax museum, Hollywood Car museum). (5) No slot machines or any other gambling tables in the hotel, so you don't get the auditory and visual onslaught the moment you walk into the lobby (like you do in the airport and every hotel on the Strip).
The "not so great" aspects: (1) Timeshare. When I booked this hotel, I was picturing a typical Marriott, but Grand Chateau is a time-share resort where they call the room a "villa". As a guest your attendance at time-share pitch is NOT required and the Concierge's pitch to attend the sales meeting was low pressure. (2) Pools. I was picturing a few days of sitting by pool and reading novel. Two pools are a disappointment. Too small and they quickly felt crowded and noisy when young children jumped in. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and the price was right at $124/night for a one-bedrm King villa.

Thank you for your review, Ann. We are happy you had a great stay and enjoyed the villa you received. The resort is a Marriott Vacation Club location, which is different than a normal hotel. One of the many perks is no resort fee and free parking during your stay. We do hope to see you again at Marriott's Grand Chateau.

We booked a 2 bedroom family room, it was everything that we needed. It was in a good location just a very short walk to the Strip. What we did like about it there was no Gambling there. Although we had a bit of a gamble, it was nice to get away from it. We would definitely stay there again.

We stayed here for 5 nights In a 3 bedroom villa with our family.
It was nothing short of amazing.
There is no casino here so no need to worry about the smoke smell either.
The staff were brilliant and close to absolutely everything.
Never wanted to leave.
Was a home away from home.
Thank you Marriott

I have stayed at this Marriott twice, once with family and once on my own and WOW!!!!!!. The rooms are very big, nice kitchenette's, apartment stacked washer/dryer, stove, fridge, dishwashers. The hotel shuttle does a grocery run so you can get the essentials you require for your stay. Cook breakfast in your room or after a hard day at the pool have a light snack, then off to the strip which is just a hop, skip and a jump over to Planet Hollywood's the Miracle Mile Shopping experience, Planet Hollywood casino, Walgreen's for inexpensive liquor, snacks and don't forget sun screen. Take the walkway over to the Cosmopolitan and the Jockey Club. In the blink of an eye you are at Vidara and Aria. The Marriott is just off the strip by a tick/5 minute walk to the corner or across the street to Planet Hollywood. You are never to far from the nightlife. The hotel includes a family sized pool and lunch bar on the 5th floor and a quieter more adult pool on the penthouse floor(roof) including a bar. They have enough to keep everyone busy in the hotel as well. The staff is very friendly and always willing to answer your questions at any time of day or night. I will be staying at the hotel for my third time this May. Bon Voyage!!!!!

We brought our 11 and 12 year old kids here on spring break and had the most wonderful time. We stayed in a 1 bedroom on the 29th floor. We had great views. Our unit was spotless. We had everything we needed. There was a full kitchen and washer/dryer. We loved that every day, housekeeping left a cart out with everything from sheets and towels to extra garbage bags, shampoo/conditioner, laundry and dishwasher detergent, soap, coffee etc. You could just go and grab what you needed. When it wasn't there, the front desk was more than happy to have someone get us what we needed. We stayed there after exchanging our timeshare and are actually happy that there was no housekeeping. We prefer our privacy and hate cleaning up so that housekeeping can come in. We loved the pool and hot tub. They were heated and perfect. There was a ping pong table and bean bag toss by the pool on the 5th floor and a well kept pool table in the lobby. The activities were also fun. We enjoyed the chocolate taste test, candy sushi, drinks of the day, sundae bar, morning cereal etc. Most of the activities were free unlike many other resorts which nickel and dime you for everything. My son enjoyed playing video games in the activity room. We also loved the courtesy Marriott extended us by allowing us to check out later and still use the facilities into the evening as our flight didn't not leave until 2am. I honestly wish I could live there. We had such a great time!

Room Tip: The higher, the better. Higher floors are less noisy and have better views.
