My boyfriend and I did this tour in May 2017 and our tour guide was Dylan. We had an amazing time! I would definitely recommend this tour. There were only 7 of us in the van, which was a nice small group size because we were able to interact freely with everyone (we met some awesome people from all around the world). Dylan was fantastic, he really knows his stuff! He was able to answer all of our questions and you could tell he's really passionate about his job! He also knows a lot of good spots to take photos.

From what I could remember, it's about a 15 hour day in total (from approx. 9am-midnight), with a stop at McDonald's in the morning, a short stop in Seligman (the original Route 66 + the inspiration for the movie Cars), Hoover Dam and then the Grand Canyon. But don't let the long day stop you from going, it's well worth it and you can take naps in the van if you're tired. You also receive a packed sandwich + snacks when you arrive at the Canyon. We had a few hours at the Grand Canyon to mill around freely and then we found a nice spot on the rocks to watch the sunset over the canyon. It was absolutely beautiful! If anyone is thinking of the South Rim tour, the Sunset Tour is the one to choose! You get to see the canyon during the day, at sunset and at night. 3 in 1 tour! Also, it wasn't super crowded at night either, which is a plus. I would highly recommend this tour!

We were picked up from our hotel by Alfonso nice and early who was extremely friendly. Alfonso made our trip to the Grand Canyon one to remember with such good insights regarding the history of the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon!

We were so impressed with how passionate and enthusiastic Alfonso was during our tour. Alfonso went out of his way to take photos of all of the members in our tour group (7 people) and I must admit the photos were amazing!! Alfonso knew exactly where to get the best photo shots which we were delighted with!!

We have been on many tours before with various tour guides and I must admit ALFONSO is the best tour guide my wife and myself have ever had!

I would highly recommend booking this trip with Alfonso as it will definitely be a trip to remember.

Alfonso if you are reading this I would just like to say Thank You!! Your professionalism in regards to what you do and the fact that you put your whole heart and soul into your tour is actually quite inspiring!!

Take care!

This is a 10-12 hour tour with Grand Adventures that includes breakfast and lunch. It has stops at the Hoover Dam and Route 66 prior to arriving at the Grand Canyon to enjoy the sunset which was priceless. The tour guide was very good in providing information about the various areas as we were going out to the Grand Canyon. I would not recommend taking young children on this tour as it is long.

We came across this company whilst searching trip advisor for a Grand Canyon trip and we weren't disappointed. We had read numerous reviews stating that Alfonso was an exceptional guide therefore we requested that he could be our guide when we booked, hoping rather than expecting. Then when we were collected from our hotel at 0730 and Alfonso introduced himself we knew we were in for a good day.
The bus held 9 people and was comfortable enough for the long journey. First stop was McDonald's for breakfast (included in the cost) before driving around 40 mins to the hoover dam for a stop of around 30 mins. Alfonso was very knowledgeable and made sure he took some great photos of all couples. We then drove for around another hour to the town of Seligman, Arizona. This is a very quirky little place, located on historic Route 66. Again after some photo opportunities and a welcome leg stretch we continued with the drive to the Grand Canyon, arriving around 1500. We had a picnic of Arby's sandwiches, crackers and fruit whilst overlooking the Grand Canyon before Alfonso lead us on a walk down the trail. The walk was very steady all the way however decent footwear is recommended. We stopped at different view points before stopping near the gift shop at around 1830 and seeing the sunset. Throughout the tour Alfonso was fantastic and clearly passionate about his job. He took some brilliant photos at all angles that we we keep forever.
We left the national park at around 1915 and started the long drive back, stopping only at a garage for a toilet and snack break. Just be aware here as the lady tried to short change my wife by $10 whilst chatting to her super friendly. This however is no reflection on the tour. We arrived back to Las Vegas just after midnight, tired but also satisfied from a brilliant experience.
Although this is a long trip, I couldn't recommend it enough. We found it refreshing to have a full day away from the madness of Vegas and the feeling of seeing the Grand Canyon was almost overwhelming. Alfonso really made this trip for us, super knowledgeable, passionate yet an all round good, friendly guy.
