“Lazy river, lions, right on the strip- what's not to like?”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 12 January 2013

It was our first trip to Vegas (June 2011) so we decided to splurge and stay right on the strip. The MGM had the best rates and great reviews. Turned out to be a GREAT decision! There was a monorail stop just across the way at New York New York for easy transportation further up the strip if needed. Otherwise you just wandered out of the casino and you were right there in the lights of Vegas. Our room was a decent size, big comfy bed, bathroom sink was separate from shower and toilet so one of us could be showering while the other was using the mirror (random tiny tv was inset into the mirror so you could watch shows while getting ready- crazy!). Downstairs you could see the MGM lions up close and personal at the walk-through display enclosure, very cool to be separated from big cats by just glass like that. The one thing I wish we'd had more time to enjoy was the lazy river in the the pool area, it was so much fun! Several pools to choose from outside if one area is too crowded for you. The concierge helped set us up with tickets to the Beatles Love show and the car rental desk downstairs sorted us out a car for a day trip to Hoover Dam. The lines at check-in and concierge desks were often long but seemed to move pretty quickly. Vegas was obviously pricey but if you can catch deals it makes a big difference. Definitely a city that you have to experience at least once. MGM has a fantastic location, rooms are great, and c'mon- lazy river! Can't beat that.

Thw MGM's new renovation looks greats and the rooms are very modern. The staff was friendly across the board and I felt like they had my best interests in mind. The MGM is a small walk to the center of the strip but this is easily overlooked cause of its value and it's own size. I look forward to trying the MGM signature during the summer next time because I'd like to tryout the huge pool area!

My stay at the MGM was great , from the parking( no hassle ) ,to the lobby (the atmosphere was great), my room was fabulous (loved it), to the restaurant( food was delicious) . I would definitely stay here again well worth the money and the time to stay at such a well organized and beautiful hotel and resort(one of the best in Vegas. My only down fall was that I did stay long enough to enjoy everything, but I will be back. Thanks MGM keep up the great work.

Of course the MGM is an iconic Vegas hotel and has great facilities as far as the casino and restaurants go. We were fairly disappointed with the cleanliness of the room. We were told they had recently/were in the process of renovating a lot of the rooms but still I found the rooms to still look like they did in th 80's.

Room Tip: Pay the extra few bucks and upgrade to a nice suite or go to the Bellagio instead

Overall, I had a great experience at the MGM Grand! I was in a newly renovated room and it was very nice. Clean, roomy, modern and the strip view was great. Particularly liked the blackout shades. Very comfortable beds - the best sleep. The concierge/front desk staff were also very helpful whenever I dealt with them. The only negative is that I was not aware that people could smoke in casinos so it was not pleasant for a non-smoker walking through there to get to the room.

Couldnt have said it better myself about the smoke in the hotel! We again are non smokers and I cant tell you what is worse the smoke filled corridors or the air freshner they pump through the air vents to disguise it!
Yes the staff are friendly, the rooms are nice and we did get upgraded which was a positive but I cant tell you how underwhelmed we are with the hotel
Will not be coming back if you pay me

Room Tip: Get a room with a view and maybe head higher up, you might avoid the smoke, we stayed on the 21st le...

Dear 123445566:

Thank you for choosing the MGM Grand. We appreciate you giving us an opportunity to provide you with some memorable moments.

MGM Grand provides a host of dining choices, with the objective to satisfy a comprehensive array of tastes and preferences. We are gratified to hear that you enjoyed the Rainforest Café. The nature themed shopping area, as well as the eclectic casual atmosphere and fare have proven quite popular, and are destinations unto themselves.

We would also like to thank you for your concerns regarding the closing of the Lion Habitat. This project is part of a complete renovation process that is currently underway at MGM Grand. You can expect to see alterations property-wide as a result of these efforts, including additional closures of other longstanding venues.

Head trainer Keith Evans will continue to care for the lions at his large desert compound here in Southern Nevada, where the lions spend the majority of their lives. Several years ago, MGM Grand and Mr. Evans established a trust fund to ensure that the lions will receive proper care for the rest of their lives.

You have our deepest thanks for your truly generous feedback, and we look forward to serving you again in the near future.

Sincerely,

Lori Pastor
