Before the renovation recently, I wouldn't of considered even walking thru the front doors of this place. I have definitely changed my tune now though! They did a phenomenol job with the renovations!! It's new look is well done and the look is very South Beach. The rooms are nice and the pool is great (mInus the music - can we at least get top 40???). We had a minor delay checking in when they had trouble figuring out a piece of the promotion we booked under, so the front desk guy gave us free breakfast at their restaurant, which was a beautiful place and good food. I will certainly be willing to stay here more often!!

When my husband shared the news that he had selected Tropicana Las Vegas, a surge of disapointment encaptured my mind. Why? Of all places would he select the Tropicana over other giant Casinos which we had the opportunity to register as guests ?

On our 4 hour trip my husbandf shared his nostalgia and memories of the legendary casinos from the past; he was pleased that we were going to stay at the Tropicana and continued to rave as to how much I would love the weekend.

I had envisioned the sense of smell -- old, musty, cigar, etc.

Much to my delight I was overtaken with the dramatic changes from yester-year. The Casino was inviting with the new decor -- welcoming!

I do share with anyone planning a trip to glitzy Las Vegas is give the Tropicana an opportunity to help you embrace a fantastic experience! The casino is not overbearingly large where one can easily get lost. The cheerful service was fantastic -- no waiting for a bit of libation -- all with a "you are our VIP SMILE! The newly decorated room was spacious and most comfortble. Most importantly, the variety of slot machines were exciting and certainly had the sounds of excitement as jackpots were going off which added to the fun!

We highly recommend the Tropicana. We will return to Tropicana as one of our Casino of Choice.

We chose to stay at the Tropicana due to its proximity to our 4 day conference and the good reviews it has been receiving since the remodel. Compared to our colleagues who stayed at the closer conference hotels, I believe we received more for our money. The rooms are nicley updated, clean and quiet. The whole place has a very different feel than the many other hotels we passed through over the course of the conference. Lively, but light and airy not dark and over stimulating. The staff I interacted with was helpful and nice. I really had a great lunch experience on the outdoor patio looking out towards the pool area. My server was fantastic and the food was quite good. I did not gamble or try to go to the RPM nightclub this trip, so no comment there. Would definitely stay here again. Easy access to the overhead crosswalks to the MGM and Excalibur was very important to us.

Room Tip: The pool side or strip view rooms would be a more interesting choice. The back side faces the airpo...

I haven't stayed at the Tropicana before but the people who had stayed before the big reno seemed awestruck. I enjoyed the fact that it is so bright, cheery and clean. Lots of inhouse ameneties IE restaurants, shops. Does Starbucks have a monoply on LV it's the only coffeshop you see? The casinos were such a nice change from the dark, almost dreary ones in Vegas. It is at the far south end of the hotel strip so it seems more open. We had a room facing LV Blvd so had a nice light show nightly. With the room we had to pay $10 a day for a coffeemaker which I guess doesn't surprise me, there is no fridge either probably another $10. The resort fee covered internet so I could use my tablet and skype to call home. It is a nice walk up the strip to shopping IE Ross, CVS, Walgrens, the Miracle Mile is a little further but a nice walk and of course there are lots of "ritzy" stores. Easy access to Luxor, Excalibur, Mandaly Bay, New York, New York. The tram is accessed from the MGM Grand across the street and the bus stop is easily accessed. Great stay will go back to the Tropicana next trip.

Room Tip: Probably rooms on the side away from LV Blvd are quieter, lots of emergency vehicles at all hours, b...

We had to make a quick overnight trip to las vegas for a business meeting and immediately thought of this hotel because we had seen it (while doing the Mob Experience last year) but had not actually stayed there. We did however remember how nice the hotel looked so why not give it a try. Glad we did - great, friendly, manageable to navigate around, food and service very good (in Beach Cafe). We travel to Vegas 3 or 4 times a year for pleasure, this is our new to-go hotel! Great price value, much warmer, friendly feeling than the glitzy hotels.

Room Tip: Non smoking king on the stip side.

We were offered a complimentary two night stay @ the Tropicana. We stayed in a deluxe standard plus room with two queen beds on the 8th Floor in the Paradise Tower. We were very impressed with the overall quality of the room. The room is very comfortable. The decor is tasteful without being gaudy. The queen beds are very comfortable. The room was very clean with no problems other than what follows.

The only problem I saw was the bathroom vent next to the toilet was totally clogged with lint. I did them a favor & cleaned the vent so the fan would work. They probably need to clean every bathroom vent in every room. The fan was not working to capacity & the steam would not clear after using the shower.

If you do not use a parking valet / bellperson, there is a long jaunt from the self parking areas to the Paradise Tower. The check-in area is away from the actual Towers. We had a 20 minute check-in time. Other than that, all of the employees were extremely courteous. We appreciated that. They were genuinely friendly & were not being phony.

If you need to eat @ the Tropicana, the Food Court & South Beach Club Restaurant are pricey, but you have to expect that.

The gaming area appeals to a certain clientele. I like the white decor. Some people don't.
I want to Thank the Tropicana Las Vegas for the complimentary stay. My family & I appreciated it. We had a great time.

Room Tip: Paradise Tower. All rooms face the Strip.
