We enjoyed a three week holiday at Swift Stables with glorious weather meaning we could make full use of the bi-fold doors in the bedroom and the living room. The location is to die for with views across the fields where you can witness the most amazing sunrises and sunsets.
The cottage has everything you could ever need including a fully fitted kitchen with a washing machine and tumble dryer, not to mention wifi which my teenage son cannot live without!
There is a large chest of toys and games plus a varied selection of books, something for everyone.
There is plenty of living space both indoors and outside and with the garden area being fully enclosed, it made it the perfect place to play for my 3 year old grand daughter who came to stay for a few days. She loved the trampoline and the sandpit and was very happy when one day a small slide, seesaw and rocking toy appeared in the garden, placed there by Nick who thought she might like them!
The owners, Nick and Becky were so nice, wanting to make sure that everything was ok for us and happy to offer suggestions of places to go or where to find things.
The cottage is perfectly postioned for exploring with the beautiful town of Market Harborough only 7 miles away and Lutterworth even closer. Leicester is only a half hour drive away with plenty of history to discover including the final resting place of Richard III in the cathedral.
Nearby Foxton Locks is well worth a visit where you can spend hours just watching the decorative canal boats going through the series of hand operated locks.
There is no shortage of country pubs within the surrounding villages offering excellent food and drink. As far as buying groceries there is a Morrisons and a Waitrose in Lutterworth and a small but well stocked Springfields supermarket in Husbands Bosworth, most of the other major supermarkets can be found in Market Harborough.
To summarise, as well as being in an ideal location for exploring, Swift Stables is the perfect place to get away from it all and just stop - a real retreat!
