Description: Charlie Palmer Steak Reno in the Grand Sierra Resort is a study in contemporary contrasts, from blonde wooden walls enhanced by mica and leather accents, to midnight blue, deep terracotta and espresso texture fabrics, and stylish booths, featuring natural grain faux leather baguettes, with floor-to-ceiling stretched fabric panels, creating a Mondrian effect. Showing his culinary diversity, Executive Chef Dave Holman, who oversees all the Palmer Grand Sierra Resort restaurants, skillfully mixes the past, present, and future in neo-traditional renditions of steak houses classics, like Pan Seared Sea Scallops & Crispy House Bacon with tangerine marmalade and poultry jus. Charlie Palmer Steak Reno is imaginative resort dining topped off with just the right amount of finesse.

In addition to really good food, the atmosphere is excellent for quiet, romantic dinning. The steaks are very good and there are also other selections on the menue.

The tuna tartar was superb -- a generous portion of fresh diced tuna accompanied by flavorful avocado and crisp sesame crackers. The ponzu sauce was nicely balanced. My lamb chops were delicious and perfectly cooked. The twice baked potato was richly tasty, and the corn side dish a nice counter-point. We shared the chocolate cake with raspberry sauce -- so rich. The wine list was excellent -- great by the glass and a goodly by the bottle list. My only complaint was that the Open Table address did not mention it was inside the Grand Sierra Casino.

Great place for a romantic dinner and business dinner

Awesome lounge to dine in or hang out before dinner

Pricey, but it's steak

Steak: I had a Kansas City 20 ounce ribeye. I requested cooked medium. It was medium well--no pink at all; charred on outside. Sent it back and received a medium steak cooked perfect. Server apologized and provided complimentary fresh corn courtesy from the chef. Steak had no taste--just juicy.

Sides-bacon braised Tuscan kale: sweet taste, delicious; corn: fresh off the cob and delicious; hand cut fries: delicious

Received complimentary cookies: good

Wait staff and server-totally awesome

I have now eaten at Charlie Palmers and I would it to be excellent. The wine list was not that deep and there was only one half bottle. I have now eaten here and at Atlantis and Peppermill. Of all 3 steak restaurants this was number 2 with Atlantis a bit better. I liked their wine list and the ambiance a touch better at the atlantis.

I visited this restaurant on my birthday with my daughter. We had a delicious meal and two bottles of wine. The bill was over $300.00 but it was worth every penny.
