“Needs a Remodel”

Reno-Sparks Convention Center
Reviewed July 19, 2018

We attend plenty of tournaments and events throughout the year and I found this convention center to be one of the most run-down. The acoustics are terrible, the bathrooms are small, old, and dirty and the lighting is poor. The food options are limited and expensive - and there was only one open during our four-day tournament making the lines very long. I appreciated the seating - padded chairs and backs - but otherwise found the experience underwhelming.

I've always enjoyed all the events at the Convention Center! Easy parking, and access. I've been to hunting shows, bridal shows, indoor kids fair during the winter. The kids and I even got to ride a camel! Great fun!

Really nothing special. Parking is close but a bit expensive. Food options are always limited. Bathrooms are ok though often messy and grimy. It’s a relatively large venue which really is the only positive.

My family traveled to Reno to support our daughter and her volleyball team who competed in a tournament spread among various sections of the center. Parking was a daily $10 and note that if you can't find a stall, you won't get a refund. There are plenty of concession stands within the venue with typical options like hotdogs, hamburgers, and nachos, but if you look around enough you'll also find healthier options like fruit cups and salads. Some people walked across to the Atlantis or shopping centers to eat. Most larger restrooms were clean and stocked. Cold AC.

We attended the NCVA Girls' Far Western National Qualifier Volleyball Tournament. There was plenty of room with over 70 courts being played on. Do not drive in through the front entrance for parking on big events. You will likely still have to go the other parking lot next to Atlantis. You will sit in traffic as you will be driving through the drop off/pick up area. Try to get a room at Atlantis for overnight events as there is a walk way that leads to the convention center. Save on parking fees/time/convenient. There is many food vendors with coffee, drinks, snacks.
