I strongly urge when able to get away from the Big Resort Hotels - although they are part of the local economy, they are primarily owned or backed by out of area larger, national corporations - plus the food and service and pricing are nowhere near as favorable as the were prior to the early 90's.
The Chart House, although part of an out of area corporation, still does offer great food, at great prices served by locals and in a beautiful setting. If you are able to get a table with a view, all the better.
I really appreciate and enjoy:
Their daily updated menus with the fresh fish availability notated.
I really enjoy their wine lists, pricing and by-the-glass offerings of premium wines at reasonable pricing (all things considered of course)
Word of caution - when driving to and from the Stateline area in NV, watch out for the Nevada Highway Patrol, Sheriff Patrols and State Troopers. They are out in force every night but in particular weekend and Holiday events just waiting to do their job. That in itself is not a problem or 'bad thing' - just think twice about whether you can or should drive, or take advantage of local transportation rather than put anyone at risk due to a poor decision you might make. It is not worth the risk! Drive Safe!
