Stopped in to try lunch at the Sap House. Nice cheese plate & fresh tacos. The cranberry mead was good. The no name drink was awesome.
We happened upon the Sap House Meadery by accident, and were very glad we did. The area it's in appears to be going through a urban renovation of sorts, maybe due to the Meadery's influence. Matt, one of the owners, was a gracious host, and we sampled many of the meads they offered. We also tried all of their tacos varieties, and found them to be far, far above what we expected. Fantastic, awesome experience all around.
What a great place! We are new to town and it was a perfect place to meet some of the other locals and travelers alike. Ash (one of the owners) was delightful and very helpful getting to know who's who. He steered us to great places to eat along with a delicious serving of his own. The Meade was outstanding, atmosphere was lovely and the people friendly. A definite must stop at kind of place.
Happy to see they have expanded. About to start offering food. I came to buy some new flavors of Meade. A new delicious one that has a tropical flavor. Friendly owner & a definite stop when in Ossipee.
Living only a stone's throw away, we are so happy to have this lovely business in our little village. The 'guys' are great and we love the mead! They have free tastings on weekend afternoons in summer and it was great to stop in, sample some new mead flavors on offer, meet new people and chat.
We highly recommend you stop in at the Sap House Meadery!
*(By the way, the reviewer who called the area "sketchy" is completely off the wall and ridiculous. This is simply a tiny New Hampshire village. I have lived here for 17 years having moved here alone from a large area of the midwest, and it's a peaceful, unpretentious community of wonderful innovative people, and full of Yankee charm.)
We were staying at the 1810 house B & B in Wolfeboro, NH and asked about wine tastings. Our wonderful hosts gave us some info on the Sap House Meadery. We decided to check them out. I called ahead & asked if we could do a tastings with them since it was during the week. (they normally are open for tastings on Sat & Sun) We were so glad they said yes. (we were heading back home on the weekend)
We were greeted by Matt who gave us the tastings. Matt is very informative! Very nice & down to earth. We really enjoyed learning about the Meadery, their meads & the story of their business. It is a smaller place but worth the trip. Give them a try. (we brought some meads home to enjoy)
