Michael and I visited Cape May for the first time for last weekend's New Jersey Audubon Spring Birding Weekend and were so pleased with the Albert Stevens Inn. The hosts are totally wonderful. Jim suggested several local events and points of interest (world class jazz, winery tours, etc.), and had great recommendations for restaurants that met our needs (early bird specials, good food at good prices, etc.).
The Betsy Room is lovely and comfortable and the free wireless Internet and iPhone docking station were a fantastic bonus. We were so sad to only be able to enjoy one of the breakfasts because we left early every morning for birding because the aromas coming from the kitchen every morning were amazing. They make a special effort for vegetarians by offering meat on the side; the cheese, crackers and wine were delicious; and the Sangria on Saturday was the best ever!
The Albert Stevens is perfectly located within minutes of Higbee Beach, the Nature Conservancy's Bird Migration Wetland, and the Rea Farm. There is ample off-street parking and a lovely green park across the street where Jim says the Lima Bean Festival is held every year.
Next visit we'll plan more free time so we can relax in the sitting room and on the porch. We really had a perfect stay and highly recommended this B&B for Cape May visitors.
