“Relaxing, fun and educational”

Went on the 6pm "bring your own wine" sunset tour. Complimentary yummy cheeses and crackers were a great addition. Enjoyed two hours of bird sighting, educational info and relaxation. The binoculars on board were helpful. Wonderful owners who are both fun as well as well educated.

“Fun, educational and pleasant experience”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 2 September 2011

We had so much fun. My daughters 11 and13 were initially uninterested but then once out in the salt marshes with their own binoculars, their curiosity got the best of them. The staff made it entertaining and the kids loved having the chance to hold some of the creatures. We also saw a rare sighting of a brown booby. A nice 2 hour family trip.

“Fun for the entire family”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 24 August 2011

We loved this little "Safari" very much. My kids are 11 and 7 and they had great fun. You get a very good value for your money (it came up to around $80 for all of us). The trip is planned very nicely. The first part is where you see all the wildlife and get very nice information about the marsh, birds, etc. Then you reach the crab cage which is very interesting and on the way back there's a little "exhibition" of all kinds of crabs and sea creatures inside the boat. So basically there is not a dull moment and the ~2 hour trip flies by. My 2 year old got a bit bored though, I guess that's why <2 year olds are complimentary. I think they should actually increase this to 3 because the little kids really don't get a lot of benefit from this anyway.

“Incredible value for money.”

A group of friends took the sunset cruise. Some are serious birders. Everyone added to their life lists. The depth of knowledge gathered over time by the owners is invaluable. Beware of imitators. Your trip will vary depending on what is in the area at any given time but you can be guaranteed a great experience. Be prepared for spontaniety. There is nothing canned about this trip. I've had 70 years of experience at the Jersey Shore and came away with an even greater appreciation for the ecology of the wetlands. This trip cannot be recommended too highly.

“Beautiful and Educational Trip on the "Skimmer"”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 17 August 2011

This husband and wife team really know their stuff and obviously love the area and what they do. They make the frequent sightings memorable and informative and they are both a lot of fun to spend a few hours with. There are other tours out there that are trying to copy them so look for the name of their boat, The Skimmer, to be sure that you get the best tour for your money.
