My family decided to do something different this year for New Year's and we ended up spending the holiday weekend in Atlantic City. I try to stay at Marriott properties when I can and was fortunate to find a 2 Bedroom / 2 Bathroom suite to accommodate me and some family members. We also secured a 1 Bedroom suite for other family members who were celebrating with us. Both rooms came with kitchens, utensils, dinnerware, pots/pans, dishwasher, full size refrigerator, electric stove, oven, and microwave. This was a great convenience and we enjoyed some home cooked meals during our stay.
Check in was a breeze and the front desk staff were pleasant and accommodating. The hotel is about 15 mins from the casinos/shopping outlets. There was a shuttle available that I believe ran every 2 hours (maybe up until 11 pm, not sure what time it starts trips over to the boardwalk area and also not sure if it is available on a regular basis or was in place only for New Year's Eve). We opted to drive our own vehicle when heading over to AC proper so we wouldn't be tied to whatever the shuttle's schedule was. It was a nice perk to have available though for those interested in using it.
Free breakfast was included and varied during our stay (one day there was chicken sausage, pork sausage, another day it was Canadian bacon, turkey sausage). Free breakfast was included and varied during our stay (one day there was chicken sausage, pork sausage, another day it was Canadian bacon, turkey sausage). I liked that they tried to have something for everyone and made sure to include meat products that included something other than pork. They also had the standard items: scrambled eggs, boiled eggs, yogurt, cold cereal, pastries, etc, in addition to having 2 waffle makers set up with batter readily available so you could make your own hot waffles.
Our rooms were clean and neat and had everything we needed. I had 2 issues during my stay, one regarding a mix up on the check in / check out date for one of the rooms we reserved and another issue with our room keys becoming deactivated. Both issues were resolved/addressed by the front desk staff. I did, however, make it a point it also discuss both situations with the hotel manager before leaving. I appreciated her taking the time to listen to my concerns, committing to follow up with her staff, and being open to offering me something for any inconveniences caused.
The hotel is one traffic light away from the Garden State Parkway and there is a WAWA across the station that also sells gas. So it's a very convenient location. It looks like they are doing some building across the street from the hotel so maybe depending on what they plan to put there, there may end up being some other conveniences close by.
I would definitely return again if in the area, especially if I wanted to be away from the casino hustle and bustle but still close enough to get there if I wanted to.More
