“Family Vacation”
Reviewed 7 May 2012

We stayed here for 2 nights as a family and found it to be very well appointed.
The Positives:
-As mentioned before, right next to the PATH station which is SO wonderful when you are coming back at the end of the day and just want to rest.
-Staff is very friendly. The housekeeping, front desk and valet were all very welcoming and helpful when we needed directions or information.
-Stayed in a renovated room which was very nice.
-A path runs from the hotel to the waterfront where you can see the skyline of NYC.
-Way cheaper than staying in NYC and very close!
-Pool area looked quite nice.

The Negatives:
-WiFi was always slow and had to keep logging on.
-Upon checkout we stored luggage in our car. Then we had to make sure we were back by a certain time so we weren't charged for an extra day of valet parking. This was a bit annoying but there wasn't much room to store luggage at the front.
-Although our room was wonderful it did have it's downfalls. 1. Balcony door didn't lock. Um...HELLO! This is a renovated room, this should have been taken care of. 2. Could hear a lot of noise from one room as the walls were thin. But, it quieted down after a bit so it was okay.
-Tv wasn't in front of the bed but between the sitting area and bed. How I'm supposed to properly see it is a mystery to me. We didn't come to watch tv though so it was ok.

All in all, Yes, I would stay here again. :)

As others have said, the PATH train is right here. However, they run a reduced schedule on the weekends and off-hours, which required a change of trains and long waits for trains. What should have taken 20 minutes to the WTC ended up being 45 minutes! Recommendation? Walk along the breathtaking waterfront to the Hoboken station.

About the hotel: wonderful, freshly renovated room. My wife commented about how comfortable the bed was. Nothing but good things to say here.

I agree with another reviewer about the lobby, but I'm sure its design was dictated by Marriott corporate.

The staff was very friendly and available, right up to the General Manager. He was "front & center" taking care of his guests.

If you're visiting Manhattan and looking for a better value, here's the place to stay.

Room Tip: Views of Manhattan from the even numbered rooms.

Stayed here for a few days when the kids were off from school in Feb. As they say location is key! Within walking distance is 2 modes of public transportation. PATH trains that take you into NYC and the LIGHT Rail that runs from Bergen County (North) To Liberty State PArk (south) There is also a HUGE mall with a Food Court. Plenty of restaurants are close by too.

Kids and I enjoyed our stay. Room was clean. Staff was very friendly. Was asked numerous times when entering the Hotel after a day out, if anything was needed. NICE. Lobby had a small food place where coffee and Beer/wine could be purchased. Again staff manning this area, very helpful.

Pool and Hottub were clean and staff made periodic checks to add towels.

I saw in a few other reviews that there were issues with rooms, one negative was lack of outlets in the room, but that was all I had.

I would stay there again in a heartbeat.

Room Tip: I had a low floor so our CITY view was over a Parking garage, so if you want a better view ask for t...

This was our second trip to this hotel and like the first, we expected good things. With regards to the hotel, we were pleased with the room and service. It is standard Marriott fare and we got exactly what we paid for.

However, the valet service is another story. We valeted our car for the weekend and didn't take it out. When we finally left on Sunday Morning, it took them 45 minutes to produce the car and there was damage to the front bumper and the back bumper. When pressed about the damage, the refused to admit fault and denied any responsibility. If you park your car with them, take pictures before the vehicle is given to them and inspect it right in front of them before you leave and refuse to go until they acknowledge the damage.

Room Tip: Try to get a high room facing NYC across the river

My wife and I stayed here on a recent trip to New York City. While it is certainly nice to stay in Manhattan, the money we saved staying across the river (less than half the cost) was well worth the subway ride to the city. The hotel is a fine property, with much more spacious accommodations than you could expect in NYC. Plus, the PATH station is literally RIGHT NEXT DOOR. This train can drop you at several Manhattan locations, including very near the WTC site. Also, tickets into Newark frequently seem to be less than flying into La Guardia.
