I just finished dinner at Por Do Sol and am very glad that I chose this place. The red sangria was amazing -- so refreshing and flavorful. I ordered the Rice with Seafood (don't remember the Portuguese name for it) from the seafood entrees section of the main menu and it too was amazing. For just one person I was served a huge pot of rice in a very flavorful tomato based broth, chock full of shrimp, mussels, clams, squid and scallops. I only ate half and that was more than I should have eaten. Two people could easily split this entree. As for the service, this is where things weren't so great. As other reviewers mentioned, the bar staff may not speak English very well, which is fine with me as long as the service is attentive. That just was not the case here. One bartender who did speak English well was well trained but absent much of the time, and the other bartender who struggled with the language was present but inattentive. Another thing that was just weird was that for about the first 25 minutes that I was at the restaurant there was some very strange and very repetitive beat music playing way too loudly throughout the whole place. It eventually was turned off but far too late. Overall I totally recommend this restaurant for the food and the sangria -- would definitely go back.
