Red Eye has some of the best coffee in town. Their brunch options are creative and yummy. On the weekend, their maple bacon is divine. The basic egg sandwich here turns into a true culinary delight.

We had breakfast here twice recently. Once we had the green eyes and ham. Even my husband who claims he hates kale liked it. On the next visit we had a special omelet with cheddar cheese, mushrooms and spinach. Delicious and the toast was served hot which often isn't the case at breakfast places. The cups of coffee are huge. Service from the very tattooed and pieced servers was very friendly and helpful.

Although service is occasionally a little rough, Red Eye Cafe is a great place to go for breakfast, lunch or dinner. The food is fresh and interesting and this not quite coffee house has great coffee. There's wifi, eclectic decorations, and no pressure to leave before you're really ready. Prices are moderate and desserts are delicious, even better than Mom's versions of the same items. There is something for vegetarians and even vegans will find something on the menu.

The only reason Red Eye Cafe doesn't get a 5 is that the specials always seem to be the same and there is not much variety in the soups. And it can get chilly in the winter with the opening and closing of the door at this busy place.

My favorite neighborhood restaurant, simple dishes expertly prepared, friendly staff, and great outdoor sitting area during warmer months.
