I've been staying at the Jolly Roger since 1997. We go every summer and have a great time. There's a great view/access to the Atlantic Ocean, afordable rates, and an overall great area to be in at Wildwood Crest. The park and gazebo are right around the corner, and its a very safe and friendly place to spend your vacation. The front desk at the Jolly Roger is very helpful, and the fact that you can grill out every meal if you want is great! The whole pool area is fun for kids and families alike. Come stay!!!

My family and I have been going every summer to the Jolly Roger Motel since 1999 and we have always enjoyed our stay there. We love the Jolly Roger and all the employees, but the one employee that stands out is Theresa MacBride she is always happy to help. We love her! It is clean and very family oriented. We hope the Jolly Roger will be around for many years to come.

Room Tip: Pool side is best!

This was the first vacation my family has had together. Myself, my husband and our two daughter ages 1 & 4. I was terrified to go anywhere with such young children fearing they would not feel comfortable away from home. These accommodations were such a relief for me. My daughters were so happy there in the room and truly enjoyed the living room/dining room area. It felt like a home more than a hotel. The cleaning service did a great job every day we were there. Also, the woman at the front desk was extremely helpful. We had such a great time we decided to stay an extra night and we were very lucky to be able to stay in the same room. We cannot wait to come back Summer 2012. This will now be our annual family vacation spot. Great job to all involved! Thank you again

Went to Jolly Roger right after Hurrice Irene, best week ever, sun was out all week. Had the usual nice time.
My only wish is that maybe that would update the rooms, they are getting kinda funky and some water got in some of the room after the storm.
Other than that I love staying at Jolly Roger, ppl are very nice there, staff is wonderful...will most likely go back again but may look 4 a place that is updated just to compare next year.
The pool was so warm this year, that was a huge plus!!!

I have seen alot of good reviews from people that come here yearly, but I must admit when I walked into the room, I was disgusted.... The small kitchenette was about 40 years old, and dirty; the floor by the kitchen was dirty and sticky; there is a very old rug that was dirty and sticky, i didnt even want to walk barefoot on it.....the door for the balcony was broken; the couch was dirty and old; the matress was hard as a rock..had the worst sleep, my son couldnt even sleep on it.....the only good thing was that the bathroom was clean, lucky enough, but of course very old.
As far as the outside, very well kept and beautiful pool, i wish they kept the rooms as nice.
probably not worth to come here again, sorry :(

The front desk was very professional and courteous. We arrived at noon and while check in wasn't until three pm, they allowed us use of their pool (w/ life guard) and facilities. I received a phone call an hour later that our room was ready and we could check in earlier. We found the room to be comfortably spacious and clean. (Updated carpets and bedspreads a plus). The bathrooms however need to be renovated and are best not be be scrutinized. (considering what we paid, I could tolerate using a 1960's bathroom). Jolly Roger is located conveniently across the street from the beach in a quiet and clean area of the Crest. Love the short drive to the boardwalk or to Cape May.

Room Tip: We opted for a room facing the tennis courts, which were very quiet at night and great for getting s...

We have been staying at the Jolly Roger Motel for over 10 years. Like many of the motels in Wildwood Crest, it is an older motel built in 1960, which is part of its charm. It is well maintained, has wonderful amenities, and the furnishings have been updated. However, being an older model, it is not flawless, and it does not have some of the amenities found in an ultra-modern hotel. We like it for its relaxed family atmosphere, cleanliness, friendly staff, variety in amenities, and convenient location to the beach. During our last stay, my family rented 5 different rooms, and we all had a wonderful time! Management was mostly unobtrusive, but was on hand to make sure all guests enjoyed their stay. They went out of their way to accommodate their guests. We loved their style and feel that they did an excellent job!

The motel is located one block from the beach between Ocean and Atlantic Avenues behind the Port Royal Hotel. It is in a good neighborhood surrounded by nice hotels, condos, and private residences. Wildwood Crest’s Centennial Park, which features free live concerts and exercise classes for a small fee, is one block to the north. Concerts end by 10 pm. The boardwalk is not within walking distance, however, a paved walkway along the beach extends from the boardwalk to this area. Bicycle rentals are on the walkway one block to the south. An Ocean Avenue shuttle to the boardwalk is available for a fee and run by the town with hours into the evening. The beach is free and has lifeguards. Chair, umbrella, and boogey board rentals are available on the beach. The motel has a snack bar, game room, pool with umbrellas and chairs, tennis court, bocce ball, shuffleboard, and ping pong. Bring your own tennis rackets. The pool is cleaned daily. Three BBQ grills are available for cooking outside of the pool area. The grills and tables are cleaned daily, and reservations to use the grills are made at the front desk. Management oversees this area to make sure everything runs smoothly. Background music is played around the pool which adds to the festive atmosphere, but it is not too loud. The hotel caters to families. If you need more food options, a full service restaurant and grill are available at the Port Royal. We also noticed some people chose to have Take Out delivered.

Each motel room has a table and chairs, small refrigerator, small microwave, small sink, toaster, coffee maker, and some kitchen plates and utensils. Larger suites have full size appliances, bigger tables, and more chairs. Our rooms looked like the photos available on the Jolly Roger web site. The furnishings were attractive, in good condition, and pleasant. Beds were firm, but comfortable. Bathrooms were clean, in good repair, but were original. Water pressure and temperature were great. Maid service was excellent. Fresh towels, soap, dish detergent, and dish towel were provided. Like all motels, you were expected to do your own dishes. Rooms were on the larger size and each one had its own balcony with chairs. There were three floors and no elevator. If you have difficulty doing stairs, stay on the ground floor. These rooms can also be entered via their balcony area. The air conditioning unit is individual, and individual units are nosier than central air. However, the noise did not bother us. It was similar to sleeping with a fan. Wifi was available in the lobby only. Many channels were available on the TVs, but units were on the smaller size. Dresser, end table, cabinets, and closet provided plenty of storage. Only one parking space per unit was provided. We parked an extra car for free one block behind the motel in the residential neighborhood.

If you are looking for a clean, friendly, family motel, this is the place for you! We can’t wait to go back next year! Not having to eat meals out was a huge plus! Loved the heated pool!

Room Tip: Upper pool view rooms have ocean view, but there is no elevator.
