Thank you Nik and Gail
We had a wonderful time , it was so beautiful and peaceful. The log cabin had everything we could possible want. I had forgotten how incredible the view was.
We stayed for 5 nights and were so sad to leave. Even though it was cold outside we kept warm with a supply of fire wood. We will definitely be back.
What an amazing way to start off our holiday. Gail and Nic were friendly and welcoming, the cabin was perfectly fitted with everything we needed for our stay and the view was spectacular. We especially enjoyed the walk to the jetty where we spent the afternoon fishing and spent some time on the water in the paddle-ski. Already looking for when we can book our next holiday there and next time we will take friends or family along.
Such a tranquil spot with great hospitality. Will definitely visit again. Drive from town about 30 minutes but worth it if your looking for a place away from the crowds.
The location absolutely amazing. The owners Nic and Gail very warm and welcoming. The cottages neat and clean with Gail leaving special treats upon arrival. Jetty area feels like your own private beach and the water lovely and warm. Canoes and pedalo been greatly enjoyed by whole family. Sedgefield beach nearby and here we had magical time too. We will surely be back again and love telling family, friends and colleagues about our great find and experience.
We had a great stay at this cabin. Lots of small things that Nic & Gail offered, that made the stay worthwhile. Great views!
We stayed in the 'small cottage' which was more than comfortable for two people and it had all the amenities one could ask for in a log cabin retreat from the hustle and bustle of normal life. It is an idyllic setting with just the sounds of birds and the breeze. Nic and Gail were very friendly and helpful - the braai is cleaned every day and wood supplied is so convenient. It is off the beaten track but also within easy reach of all the sights around the area to which one can easily make day trips. We will definitely return !
The approach is along a gravel road through a forest which ends at the entrance to Fynbosvlei. Immediately you can see the care and effort Gail and Nic have put into making this the perfect location for a complete break from the world. We had the small log cabin which fitted perfectly into the surroundings, fully equipped for a holiday stay and plenty of room for the two of us. The cabin is in a clearing at the edge of the forest with a stunning view overlooking Swartvlei Lake. The sounds are pure nature, birdsong, leaves rustling etc. There is a braai and a plentiful supply of wood and kindling. There are several walks around the property and quite a few animals including the fastest tortoises we've ever seen. Sedgefield is a nice town with excellent beaches and a good farmers market on Saturdays. Gail is the perfect host, happy to help if needed, otherwise leaves you alone while she gets on with her busy life.
Stunning place, fantastic value for money.
