I've stayed in Seminyak several times and love finding hidden gem villas to stay in, and Villa 8 is just that. We hadn't booked anywhere and had a few days in Uluwatu so before we went south we drove around on the motorbike and came across Villa 8 on our search. It was excellent value for money, and we had a 2 bedroom villa for 2 of us, which was great to have that extra space. We did have a 2 level villa next door over looking ours, but we didn't see a person the whole time and it was super quiet - just the wonderful sound of the chickens in the morning! The pool was lovely and well appointed in that it catches the sun during the day - so many villas in Seminyak are very dark and small and villa 8 is just the opposite. It's not brand new or modern but had everything we could have needed, all the kitchen amenities, spacious wardrobe, ipod speakers and lovely in-villa breakfast every day.
The location is excellent for all the restaurants and shops in Seminyak - the Corner Store is awesome for breakfast, La Sal a fantastic Spanish restaurant is also just up the road... and Ku de Ta, Potato Head, Sarong and all the other well known restaurants and bars are all within a 10 min cab or bike ride.
Linda, the manager and all the staff were so friendly and helpful - we went to Lombok after Bali and Linda even helped me arrange transport for our last day in Bali with a great driver who we trusted with all our luggage while we lazed about at Potato Head.
Enjoy Villa 8!

Room Tip: The 2 bedroom villa at the end is great, as it's a bit more private as no one is walking past

We stayed here with a large family. There are 4 bedrooms. Two inside and two in a guesthouse. The location is great, short stroll to all the restaurants in Seminyak and when you don't feel like going out, the Villa has a chef (at cost) and can cook dinner for you (at cost).
There were however, some dilemmas that we faced. First off, we had to ask everyday to get clean towels. When we got washing done, some things did shrink and we were charged items out of the minibar despite not consuming them. So double check the mini bar and make sure all items are there.
The fitness centre is non-existent. We asked about it and they never got back to us.
Breakfast is included, eggs and fruit only. Pancakes and bacon are at cost.
These are only small things, overall we thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Villa 8 and would probably go back.
Hope this helps.

A part of me wishes that Villa 8 wasn't on trip advisor so that it can remain my secret little gem every time i come to bali!
It was our first trip back to bali in somewhat 7 years, the last time we stayed in White Rose (Legian) which was good for a young crowd. However this time we were coming back because we wanted something a little more exclusive and private for two couples (plus it was my 25th birthday so i wanted to indulge!).

We stayed in the Deluxe Villa (4 persons) and it was absolutely magnificant. I must admit you get a bit sceptic as you have to drive down a little lane and the laneway from the road is a bit worn but as soon as you step into the villa you forget everything!

We were treated like absolute royalty, i just cannot fault the service and our maids were just so friendly and chatty, really made you feel like you had been friends for ages. Every day they came and made our breakfasts on time and chatted with us about what was the best things to see and do around seminyak and the breakfasts were yummy! They were also very courteous of our privacy and would make sure we knew when they would be back to change sheets / bed linen and towels.
Linda (front of house) was so professional and went out of her way to make sure everything was organised for us. Johnno (private driver) was funny and friendly and i would definately call him again to be our driver next time we go back.

Villa 8 is so unbelieveably close to the main drag of Seminyak (near rumours and Ultimo) but perfectly hidden away so you still get that private / exclusive feel.

We all felt safe and comfortable - security was in our villa every night at 6pm to make sure we had enough mosquito coils, and there was always someone guarding the entrance to make sure no-one un-authorised entered the premises.

Such good value for money - we paid around $200 a night for 4 people ($50 a night each) which is an absolute bargain in my eyes.

I could go on and on! Thank you very much Villa 8 and i will be back for sure!

I travel to Bali regularly with my mother for business and have stayed at many Villas in the Seminyak area. Villa 8 offered us everything and more. The location is just off 'eat street' so after a busy day nice to treat ourselves to one of the many fantastic restuarants just down the road. Our Villa (#2) was gorgeous - it had 2 lovely air conditioned rooms opposite each other generous in size with the best walk in wardrobe (would be great if the rooms had TV's in them though) . The outdoor bathrooms are a little basic but have a great enclosed outdoor shower with plenty of power and hot/cold water. These bathrooms could do with a little sprucing up which I think they are doing later in the year. The lounge area (adjacent to the kitchen/dining) has a big open space with an oversized comfortable couch (which a lot of Villas lack) including a flat screen TV with many movie/entertainment/news channels, DVD player & CD player. This area faces the pool, which again is a bigger size pool to other villas - it has an extra shallow area to sit in (at night with a glass of wine!). The Villa seemed very private & quiet, you could not hear any neighbouring villas - except for the odd rooster. It also felt very spacious and is set all on one level which I personally prefer. The staff were exceptional - they were very friendly and had all been working there for many years and this gave us a very homely feeling. The breakfast that was cooked for us by the lovely ladies every morning was the best ever in Bali! Pancakes to die for....lovely soft pouched eggs....very yummy fresh fruit! I have booked again for Sept/Oct for my husband and 3 boys and look forward to returning to this little slice of paradise.

Where do I start - we had 9 nights at Villa 8 (#2) and it was fantastic.
With two young girls; 3 years old and the other 1 year old I was worried about staying at a villa with a private pool but we were able to relax and all enjoy ourselves.
The two bedroom villa allowed us to put the 3 year old in a big bed and the baby in a cot in the walk-in-wardrobe which was huge. Each villa is private, so we didn't worry if the girls were crying or noisy.
Breakfast was cooked each morning by the wonderful staff and all staff were very helpful and friendly. I made sure we all had acidophilus tablets/powder everyday and yakult drinks so this helped with not getting Bali Belly. My 3 year old did get a temperature and slight signs of diarrhea for 24 hours but it passed quickly and Nurofen kept the temperature down.
The mosquitoes were big and in abundance but there are coils lit all the time and the bedrooms are sprayed morning and night. We kept lots of insect repentant on the girls and ourselves and the beds had lovely big mosquito nets over them. I also had plenty of soothing itch cream for when they did get bitten.
The bathrooms were outside and it was spectacular to have an outdoor shower under the moon or morning sunshine.
Other great things:
Babysitters were really cheap at AUD $4 per hour.
Free WiFi in each villa.
Supermarket on the main shopping road (Jalan Legian) called “Bintang Mini Market” and we’d buy fresh milk, lunch and dinner supplies for every few days for the girls.
Massage girls came to our villa from a little salon right around the corner, so when the girls slept at lunch my husband and I would have an hour long massage together.
If the girls got bored we’d take them to the Hard Rock Hotel Pool as there are plenty of waterslides there.
Please feel free to email me if you have questions about taking kids to Bali or if you’re thinking of staying at Villa 8.

My family and I enjoyed another two stays at Villa 8 Seminyak at the start and finished off a round Island holiday.
First point to note, Villa 8 is located in Jalan Drupadi in Seminyak (not Kuta) and hence this Villa complex is incorrectly located on Trip Advisor.
There are four Villas in the complex which is set back from the street which is well located near the top end of Jalan Laksmana (Eat Street) and also very close to Jalan Seminyak (shopping). We stayed in both Villa’s 1 & 2 which are essentially identical and feature a partially enclosed living, dining and kitchen area overlooking a private pool with bedrooms off to each side.
The bedrooms feature King size beds and semi enclosed bathrooms. The beds have mossie nets which is a must in Seminyak as the mossies are very bad this time of year. In fact it’s not pleasant sitting out in the evening in the semi enclosed living areas because of them. The bedrooms lack a dressing table and/or desk, but do have a safe and plenty of closet space.
The pool is set in a small picturesque tropical garden slightly overlooked by 2 storey rustic thatched roofed bungalows in the adjoining property but we never had any concerns for privacy. The pools are just lovely and the area is very quite such that you can hear the birds and squirrels scurrying around the property!
The staff are first class and very unobtrusive. A simple breakfast of fruit and eggs and toast are provided each morning and you can order a more extensive menu at additional cost or you can wander a few hundred metres down the street to Vienna Café or Corner Store for more Western breakfast treats.
The properties are aging a little and there is the odd faulty door lock, shower head etc. but if bought to the attention of staff can be quickly fixed. Cost was OK but perhaps a little pricy given the age of the Villas.
We stay here for two reasons; the great staff and the great location for shopping and great restaurants.
Wireless internet is available

We just returned from an eight day trip to Bali with an almost-two year old. We stayed our first three nights in Villa 3 and it was superb - really good value for money. The villa has a very homey feel, and felt very spacious for three adults and an active toddler. Lovely plunge pool (which I found a little cold, but the rest just loved it) and an outdoor living area that was just so peaceful to rest in during the heat of the day, and to watch the stars in the evening. The staff were universally helpful, from the manager Linda, to the lovely cleaning ladies/cooks who made us breakfast in the morning, to the security guys at night. Just a short walk away to shops, and a 5-min taxi ride to the beach (Legian or Ku De Ta). The cafe just opposite (Cafe Vienna) made lovely sandwiches and served good coffee.

Villa also arranged very reliable transport from Seminyak to Ubud for us (we ended up using the driver for the rest of our stay as he was reliable and amiable).

The location itself is ideal for those who don't mind not being right at the beach. Situated in a very quiet little lane, and truly a peaceful spot.

Only down side were mosquitoes, which we kept at bay with lots of Citronella spray (as well as mosquito coils lit by staff at night), but still got a few bites in the end.

Overall, this is one of the loveliest places we've stayed in, in terms of value for money and overall quality. Already planning to come back in low season! Oh, and free Wi Fi was a total bonus!
