That was my first trip to diving heaven in Tulamben Bali which located at North-East Bali about 2.5 hours from Denpasar airport.
I said diving heaven, because this areas is very popular only for diving both professional and rocky divers. Many divers just sacrifice for 5-6 hours travelling time in&out from Bali main city, Denpasar just for 1 or 2 diving time.
I choose this restaurant after searched TripAdvisor as I couldn't find fresh barbecue fish in the area.
We ordered their specialty mixed fish satays package and also barbecue fresh fish on that day which was local Mahi-mahi.
The mixed satay package came with rice, two types of fish satay (4pcs), Balinese fish cake (1pc), peanuts, vegetable and fish-ball soup complete with special Balinese chili sauce (local called "sambal matah"). All the food taste were awesome and can feel the freshness of ingredients and herbs.
Medium size Mahi-mahi were grilled with open fire from charcoal and taste fresh and juicy just what I wanted. I was very satisfied with the quality and quantity of the ordered. the cost for 2 person SGD210. Will come back to try other thing when come back to this area.

The good:
- Fresh food
- Reasonable food size and price
- Free pickup from your hotel/resort in the area
- Cozy and full view of Mount Agung and can see sun down

Tips:
Booked in advance for group as the restaurant is not so big (about 15 people I guest) also ask for free transport as there is no public transport in this area.

Friendly service and fresh Mahi Mahi. They provide pick up from hotels in Tulamben. Must try local dessert Dadar Gulang.

Owner Wayan picked our party of 6 up at Liberty Dive Resort and drove us up to his restaurant, where his wife showed us the fish she would be grilling for us. The open dining area is on the second floor with a wonderful view of Gunung Agung, Bali's 10,000-ft. Volcano. We enjoyed drinks as the sun went down, but what I'll remember most is that that first taste of smoky, spicy grilled mahi. It was a revelation! While in Tulamben, don't miss this dining opportunity.

The restaurant do offer free pickup and dropoff as the restaurant is on a bit of hilly sharp corner from the main street. Walking at night is very dangerous as the road is pitch black. No street light at all. Sometime traffic is quite busy.

We had Grilled mahi-mahi for 3 person to share. 95,000rp X 3pax. The fish is cooked to perfection and served with rice or chips. Proper fresh hand cut chips. plus Gado-gado and salsa dipping on the side. Later evening, the owner brings up some barracuda from the market. You can have barracuda too. We have no problem having grilled fish as a whole.

The only drawback having meal there is a bit warm even on first floor. No fan. No sea breeze. A lot of flies at daytime. Won't be problem once the day goes dark.

No wine is served here. Do bring your own.
