Old but still good

4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Nov 4, 2019
The location is near to terminal 21 and Big C, however, i can't found 7-eleven nearby.
The view from room is spectacular whereby you can see Korat Tower directly.
The executive room that I stayed is huge and clean. Please take note they was no tooth brush supply.
The breakfast spread is wide selection and delicious.

Overall was a good stayed.

Check in was fast and efficient. The Hotel is located close to Terminal 21 and Big C. The advantage would be the bus station to Bangkok which is about 10 minutes on foot. Exit the hotel driveway, turn left and start walking till you see a waiting shelter. Turn right and straight ahead till you can see the buses parked in the bays. the only 7-Eleven if you need to buy cigarettes.

Breakfast is more towards Thai style.

The permanent dishes
- White steamed rice,
- fried rice (Kaw Pad)
- Pad Thai
- Pineapple as cut fruit
- Cereal
- Chicken Ham
- Chicken Sausage
- Beverage counter of Tea and Coffee
- Juices, tons of sugar in it (best to avoid)
- Drinking water
- Egg station (sunny side up, omelette or scrambled)
- Bread station
- Cakes

Depending on which day of the week the follow are as below
- stir fry slice pork with cut chilli or chicken with ginger slices,
- Stir fry cabbage or Kailan
- Potato & carrot soup with chicken drumlets or cabbage & tomato with minced pork ball
- papaya, water melon, grapes or rock melon or bananas

Service is good at the restaurant and buffet is for breakfast and lunch only. Dinner is A-la-Carte.

The room fixtures are showing signs of poor maintenance. Wall switches to lights were arcing. Bath tub edges were not well clean, ventilation vents in the toilet was dusty. No emergency torchlight

Housekeeping service is average, not detail enough.

The least this is better than City Park, Asiana, V-One, Pegaus Tower but definitely can't beat Kartary. However Kartary would need the Tuk-Tuk or SongTheow or rented car to get around as it is not near the Korat Mall.

Room tip: 9th floor would be a good choice, facing Terminal 21 and away from the lift well

It's little bit sad that Fortune Group didn't quite manage to renovate this hotel. You can feel how everything once were luxury... but it's long gone. And omg how they missed a huge oppotunity to redesign their rooms. What a waste of space.
Check in was great. Everything was ready, welcome drinks served, they even parked our car.
Our executive room on the corner of 7th floor was a disappointment. Dirty windows, cheap small tv, dirty table, noisy air con... window fixed with duct tape! Cheap toiletries... 160b minibar beer... Wifi coupon for every day... But the view! Panorama around Korat. Just amazing!
We also checked the 3rd floor pool and gym. Pool was small, little bit dirty with cold water. No bar. Gym was empty. Showers there were broken and sauna not in use. Breakfast buffet was great. Although finished already at 10am. How about location? Well... Yes it is very close to the terminal 21 mall. However, you need to cross a busy street to get there. In Thailand this is very dangerous! Hotel neighborhood is industrial, closest 7/11 is 500m away. No other restaurants (except in mall).
I give them 3 stars. Not really worth of 65 euros / night.

I booked Fortune Rajpruek due to it's convenient location to Terminal 21 and the bus interchange. The hotel itself was well maintained, with amenities such as a pool and gym.

I must've booked during the low season as there were no more than 6 other rooms taken during this period, which thus allowed my partner and I to have a well deserved rest. On days that we felt lazy to venture out due to the heat, we would order room service which was always delivered quickly to our room.

We had a great view from the 10th floor facing Terminal 21 and it only takes 5-7 minutes to cross over to do some shopping or eating. Whilst you're there I recommend you go up the Terminal 21 tower to get great views of the entire city.

My stay overall was great, check-in and check-out was handled well and I will definitely return the next time I am in the city.

Room tip: Ask for rooms from level 8 to 10 facing the street. Do request for rooms that are not too close to the elevator.

I visited this hotel 22 years ago and it was splendid, definitely a 4 star rating. I have just spent 2 nights there and I would rate this hotel now at 3 ½ stars. The hotel is now under new owners and needs to be refurbished. Some torn upholstery in the reception area is not a good look. Most seating caters for small Thais except for the dining room.
The rooms were spotlessly clean but the carpet in the hall was in dire need of a thorough cleaning.
The beds were the most comfortable we slept in, in Korat or indeed in Bangkok.
The food was fantastic but mainly caters for Thais. If you want good western food go to the Korat Mall on Mittraphap Road.
The staff were professional, helpful and spoke English. I would highly recommend this hotel. Will I stay there again, yes?

Room tip: All rooms are quiet.
