There is a HUGE discrepancy between the virtual (shown under Google Maps) and the real. First of all, none of the photos are correct, except for the 360 street view. Even more confusing, the locals refer to the place as the KR Hotel; only on the Internet is it called the Korat Hotel.
Room rate is 1000 at the front desk — not 500, as shown in Google Maps.
If you click on the two links (Expedia and Wotif), they merely provide all the hotels in Korat — one cannot get a room in Korat for 500 baht!
Neighborhood is less than charming — every other shop on this street either sells fabric, sports jerseys or school uniforms. No place to eat. (To find a decent meal, you need walk 15 minutes, across the moat, to the new Klang Plaza; on the fourth and fifth floors you will find restaurants and a food court.)
To be fair, room is bright, with a nice big balcony. Perhaps interestingly, a reviewer who described the place as having “a nice spa and massage” neglected to mention that the spa is called the Best Babylon.
