Still great!

Review of City Park Hotel
4.0 of 5 bubblesReviewed Sep 12, 2018
I have stayed in this hotel a few times whilst in Nakhonratchasima (Korat). It is not fancy, no Hilton or Sheraton but is a great little hotel. It is clean, got the basics right and in a great location opposite the biggest Mall in Thailand.

The nicest thing in my opinion is the staff, beginning with the parking attendant/guard, house maids and reception. Smiles welcome you and they go out of their way to help if needed.

Room comes with a morning breakfast which doesnt change that much and is quite basic and slanted towards Thais (understandly given the fact that the hotel is on the main highway and most guests are over-nighters headed further up north or here for business etc). Cost of room is reasonable, fantastic air-con, very good wi-fi which is free, there is a restaurant downstairs which quite and resonable. Actually, if you feel like singing, they have a small karaoke stage up front.

The rooms are showing their age slightly but the rooms are clean and the maids take care and pride in their work.

In Korat for a visit, then this hotel is worth a go. I know l will. Besides being so close to the Mall, it makes a trip back to your room loaded with the fantastic fresh fruit, local delicacies such as mor gang etc (e.g. From the fab supermarket and food court) easy.

With the many sales within the Mall itself, shopping is a breeze and the credit cards can take a beating.

I stayed here only one night as I was just passing through town. Reminds me of a Holiday Inn or similar chain hotel in the United States. The hotel was fine although the rooms do show some wear and tear and the carpet was pretty grungy. The staff is very nice and friendly.

It is conveniently located close to the mall and railway station. Walked in without a booking and paid 1000 baht which included breakfast that I did not eat.

I would stay here again.

Booked this hotel due to it being close to the large shopping mall which is one of the few attractions in the city. On arrival it seemed closed with the bell boy asleep at his desk. The bar was closed but opened on request, a/c , lights and music was put on and we all had a beer, had to request glasses. The hotel was smart enough but with few facilities, no pool, restaurant for breakfast only and, a bug bear, no tea and coffee in the room.
There seemed to be very few guests. Didn't see bar open again, breakfast was poor, the girl checking you in to the restaurant was asleep on one of our two mornings. there was no staff around and the little selection of food was either missing or cold.
One afternoon we asked if we could have a coffee but it seemed there was no-one to make it, we walked to another hotel nearby, that was just as dead but we had our coffees. Nakhon Rachasima is not a holiday destination this hotel proved that, advise you stay somewhere else.

Prepare your own travel adapter and toothbrush if you're going to be staying here. Front desk speaks very limited english. 5-10 minutes walk from the Nakhon Ratchasima mall, which is across the street via the overhead bridge. Basic breakfast is served. Best if you have mosquito repellents as the rooms and lobby have a lot of hungry mosquitoes waiting to feed.

Could not book it through Internet, but we got a room through the reception. The reception staff were weary nice.
The room was basic, but ok. The bathroom was not among the biggest and no hot water in the hand basin.
The beds were good.
As we did have a room facing the main road, it was a lot of disturbing sounds in the nighttime.
Internet worked fine.
The breakfast was very basic.
The walk in room rate was 1200 Baht, which is quite acceptable in a big city.

Stayed here for three nights while visiting my wife's family. Good clean hotel, staff very friendly and helpful. Our room was very large and connecting room for family. Good size bathroom as well. Restaurant and separate bar downstairs. Set back off the main road, makes it a bit more queiter. Staff will organise taxi or tok tok for you. Vitural opposite The Mall shopping centre, so good location. I would stay here again.
