Admittedly it is out of the way of the main centre. What we liked about the place, and we stayed for 8 days, was that it forced us out of our comfort zone. We explored the neighbourhood by foot. Not so much at night because of the streets poor lighting but because of the local stray dogs. A 5min walk got you to the 7-11. 10 min walk in the opposite direction was an authentic Thai restaurant called Long Fah. Beautiful food! If you continued walking past the 7-11 at the T section either left or right were 2 equally lovely restaurants. Soi being the newest.
A Tuktuk cost 60baht to The Mall 100-120 to Klang Plaza. The hotel staff organised a Day taxi at our request which took us to most of the sites we wanted to see including Phimai which was 50km away. We had our driver from 8.30am to 5pm at a cost of 2800baht ($106Aud) Fantasyic day.
We started off in a standard room but instantly upgraded to VIP to have more space plus cooking, lounge and dining area. We also had a huge bedroom with 2 large wardrobes, a tv and 2 small desk areas plus ensuite. The room came with daily cleaning, 4 free non alcoholic beverages, also daily, and breakfast was inclusive. The breakfasts are not big but enough to get you started for the day. We had the staff send our laundry out, 3 days of clothing for 2 adults cost 200baht at most. We sent it out in the morning and had it back in the evening.
All of the staff were amazing and even though their english was very basic to 0, they always tried to make us happy and we appreciated all of their efforts.
We were in Korat to watch our niece play volleyball and the staff even transported us to a game and came to support our team bringing banners of our flag and chanting along with us. We've never experienced that kind of extra service. They are amazing!
