Have fished this river twice. The latest time 10 Aug 2014. It is a small river about ten to fifteen feet wide, one to three feet deep and heavily overgrown in most places. Also, full of dead timber. Very tough to fish. See where some have caught great fish, but wonder if they had a guide and fished private waters?

I visited Cimmaron and Eagle's Nest every singer growing up. It's so beautiful! The locals are nice. The town of Eagle's Nest has grown a little, but not enough to detract from the landscape. They have a wonderful Subway, great fishing, fun ships, and lots of local decor!!

Lovely spot to sit and relax! Watch the fish in the water. Fish if you like. Be sure to have a New Mexico Day Use Pass if you're in the state park area. (Big fine if you don't.)

I have fished several times with Doc Thompson and Spencer Seim. Not only are both individuals known world wide for their angling prowess, they are excellent individuals. Both have a tremendous amount of knowledge about the history of the area, and run a really professional outfitting service. If you want the true southwest fly fishing experience, don't waste your time fishing with anyone else. These guys are the best out there.

Great scenery and beautiful photo ops. Good place to fish and just hike some of the area trails as well. Clear river waters. Would recommend to elk and wildlife watchers as well.
