“We loved this funky little place.”
Reviewed June 18, 2016 for a stay in June 2016

The outside is rustic, the ceilings are low, the rooms are all on different levels so we were always stepping up or down, the decor was eclectic in the extreme and we absolutely loved it! If you want ordinary, bland and sterile, go to a motel. This is a lot more fun.

“Magical get-away”

This wonderful place isn't for everyone - if you're looking for a four star hotel with all that entails, this isn't it. But if you want a place with all the flavor of the region, privacy and beautiful vistas and the feeling of being part of New Mexico - this is your kind of place. The hosts are lovely and the living space is funky and creative and very much imbued with a New Mexican vibe. It comes with a just what you need in a minimal kitchen so you're not tied to eating out. Wi-Fi, cable tv, and a spacious common living area provide just enough of the outside world to make you feel at home. It's right in between Taos and Santa Fe so quick days trips are easy and hassle free. It really is in a perfect location for exploring what NM has to offer. One of the hosts is an artist and you definitely see her influence all around the property. There are two resident dogs who will escort you in and out of the driveway and while we were there, the gentleman of the house was putting in a massive vegetable garden. All of this made for an experience where we felt like we were living in the region for a week. And that was simply lovely!

“Just right for us.”

My wife, myself and a friend came to New Mexico to paint - we are artists - and this place was just right for us. I would describe it as homey and funky. It is large and comfortable (the kitchen ceiling is a bit low) and has the essential things needed for a week long stay. The rent is very affordable. The owners are very friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit!

“Peaceful retreat into the country”

We stayed at the Ocho guesthouse for 4 nights in late September to give us a base for exploring O'Keeffe country. The cabin is rustic but comfy and had everything we needed for a great visit. Our hosts were very gracious and left fresh eggs from their chickens in the fridge for us, delicious!! There is Wifi and satellite TV if you just can't leave all that behind. Our first night there was a big storm, and listening to the rain on the metal roof was a rare treat!

The guest house surpassed our dreams of a cozy, quiet vacation spot. The location is within driving distance of everything we wanted to do and offered the comforts of home after the day's adventures. The decor, the conversation and the birds all add up to a fabulous experience.

A wonderful experience. When we drove up the driveway I knew that the place was special...turkeys, geese, guinney hens in the yard. The guest house was immaculate and really comfortable...king-size bed, kitchenette, satellite TV ...even a mini library. We could not have had better hosts... Weaving demo... Spectacular stargazing. The best value we have ever had in accommodations...Can't wait to go back
