Madrid is a Rustic artist retreat.halfway between Albuquerque and Santa Fe way off the interstate freeways.
This was our second time at the Inn. Stayed two nights in October. The Inn is close to shopping, entertainment and dining. The Inn is a converted, remodeled and modernized double wide trailer. Cool concept that fits the "Mining Town" chic. There are about 40 shops and art galleries within easy walking distance. Lot's of Turquoise for sale. Guess that's why It's called the Turquoise Trail. "Maggies Diner" from the movie "Wild Hogs" has been converted into a huge T-shirt and novelty emporium (but you can take pictures out front. Visited Cowgirl Red (next to Maggies) and bought some artwork from the artist Spencer Kimball. She added an extra special personal note to the frame. That was really amazing. In September, there was a Steam Punk event on the property. Unique and fun event. May go back during the holidays for the Christmas parade and celebrations.
