OK, let's get this out of the way. If you're looking for luxury accommodations, look elsewhere. If you're looking for an excellent bang for your buck in a great location in Ruidoso, look no further.

Let's start with the facility. This is an older property. It was built in the early 70's and it's showing its age. The decor is definitely vintage 70's Ruidoso, and that's not necessarily a bad thing. That said, there are signs everywhere that they staff are working on the property and improving it....but really, it does the job nicely as is. For $89 a night....about the price of a budget motel...we got a comfortable one bedroom condo with kitchenette and fireplace. The property is on Mechum drive in a great area of town, and is close to Ski Run road, Cedar Creek, Bonito Lake, and minutes from mid town. It's conveniently located, but still relatively quiet. They have an outdoor hot tub which was great on a cold evening.

The staff are very friendly and helpful. They go out of their way to help you. Couldn't really ask for more. I would (and likely will) stay here again. Give it a try if you're wanting even a weekend in Ruidoso.

Overall it was a good stay. Very comfortable and clean inside. The owner was very nice, quick check in. A couple of observations for the manager of Village Lodge-the sidewalk was dirty, a lot of debris, if you look outside the window from the bedroom there is a lot of junk in the back, kind of an eye sore, toaster in the kitchen needed to be replaced.

Room Tip: Quiet and comfortable.

This is an old, apartment complex that is now considered a condo complex. It’s seen better days but the owner/managers seemed to be working very hard to make it the best they could.

The location was great for me as I had a car, did not want to stay in the busy town area, and wanted some quiet. It’s close to everything without being right in the middle of the “action.”

I stayed in a one bedroom that had a small living area, a separate bedroom, and very basic kitchen. There was what you need for simple cooking, coffee maker, coffee, 3-burner range, oven, small refrigerator, etc. Watch out for the refrigerator when you put food in it. I didn’t notice until later that the temp was set warmer than was safe for food and I ended up throwing away everything that was in it.

The bathroom was clean but rundown. Not a problem.

The bedroom has the second tv in it, a closet, a second sink area, a dining table (yes, a dining table and two chairs!) and a king bed. The bed was very comfy so sleeping was good.

I had a couple of issues and both were addressed immediately by the staff and corrected. Their sincerity and desire to make my stay a good one was very apparent and much appreciated by me. The old condition of the Village Lodge would normally make me look to other places to stay but the staff was so good I think I would overlook the oldness and stay here again.

Clean 1980s condo in a nice location. We spent two nights here and it was a very nice stay. Full kitchen and living room. The people were friendly and helpful. I would definitely stay here again. Close to the general aviation airport and good local restaurants.

These are not luxury accommodations but they have everything you need for longer stays. They are basically little condos with a small living room with fireplace, kitchenette small bath and a bedroom(s). I've stayed here on multiple occasions and found it quite comfortable. Some rooms are nicer and more updated than others, but all are cozy.

These places are a little bit older, but have everything you need. They do have too much furniture to pull out the couch, so after a lot of rearranging we were able to finally do that. My son said the pull out couch wasn't very comfortable (surprise, surprise). The king size bed in the master bedroom was great. The hot tub was hot and the water was clean. All staff was very pleasant and friendly. Over all it was perfect for our needs.

This is like a small apartment complex that has been converted to a rental facility. It is not a cabin, but you can go outside and be among the trees.
This is now one of my top 3 places to stay in Ruidoso.
First of all the people that run this place are very nice and attentive. They keep the rooms in very good shape and did not have a single problem in our rooms.
We rented a king suite for myself and wife, and a double bed suite for my mother and daughters. Rooms had very nice mattresses with plenty of pillows and blankets, and the couch pulls out to a bed. The bathrooms have plenty of towels and nice FULL tubs with showers. The kitchens are fully stocked with everything we needed to cook thanksgiving dinner. They even provide coffee, sugar and tea.
There was tv in the living room and one in the bedroom with HBO. The rooms have heat and AC and a fireplace. They also have wifi that worked pretty well.
The location is great, about a mile from downtown, which to me is great not too far not too close. The grocery store is one block away.
Great place will stay there again.
The only suggestions I have for the owners is they work on the flooring (possibly convert to linoleum tiles since they will flex with floor) and replace some outlets that are worn and have poor contact)

Room Tip: If you have elderly people choose a room on first floor. Upper rooms have a better view.

Ciscokid1970,
Thank you so much for taking time out of your busy day to review The Village Lodge. We are so glad that you enjoyed staying with us and even more happy to hear that you will be returning. I'd also like to thank you for your suggestions. We are currently in the process of replacing the tiles as time permits and have plans to convert our older outlets (which are currently wired to the wall switches) in the future.
Thank you again for your review. We look forward to seeing you again in the future.
Sincerely,
Jane Floyd
