We stayed one night at this B&B which is rich in history of the original home. If you are looking for a high tech, glitzy, sterile environment.....move on. But if you want a secluded, quiet, relaxing experience, this is the place. Our gracious hosts, Erica and Chef Mark were welcoming and made us feel special. Breakfast prepared by Chef Mark was positively scrumptious...made to order just for us. We didn't take advantage of the private hot tub as I couldn't take the 35 degree cold getting out. Be sure to stay two nights to enjoy sitting in the beautiful courtyard in the afternoon facing the mountain. Our room was a little worn and needs some updating in a few areas but the bed was heavenly and the linens feel like warm butter. If you need a good night's sleep, you can have it here with warm, inviting hospitality.

Room Tip: Second floor rooms have even a better view of the mountains but only if you can do the stairs.

This was our first trip to New Mexico, and we loved every minute. The B&B was fantastic! Our hosts were knowledgeable, available, and friendly without being intrusive. We got great tips about dinner and hiking in the area. Breakfast was delicious, and there were always snacks and tea out. The setting, with the "mountain as their backyard" was beautiful, and we loved the outdoor hot tub. It was an enjoyable and relatively easy walk to town. Even though we visited in the summer, we still enjoyed our Kiva fireplace at night! Hope to get back to enjoy Hacienda del Sol again!

We spent one night at Hacienda del Sol in late September, and if we hadn't been on a tight itinerary, we would have tried to spend several more. Our hosts, Erica and Mark, were gracious, helpful, knowledgeable about restaurants and things to do, and fun to talk to. The setting is lovely -- a classic New Mexican adobe compound, opening on not one, but two spacious lawns with views of Taos Mountain to the east. Our room (the Cowgirl Room), was spacious, comfortable, and afforded a great view of the mountain as the setting sun painted it in red and gold. At breakfast, we were offered a variety of options, all cooked to order. We each had Huevos Rancheros -- terrific! And the rates were very reasonable. A perfect place to stay in Taos. Jim and Anne Airy, La Conner, WA.

Room Tip: We loved the Cowgirl Room. It's upstairs, overlooking the lawn, with a view to the east and Taos Mountain.

As first time visitors to New Mexico, we couldn't have been more pleased with our decision to stay at Hacienda del Sol. Our room was great - a really comfortable bed, 2 nice armchairs, lovely Southwestern decor and a fireplace. Perfect! We stayed 3 nights and breakfast was wonderful each morning. Our hosts, Mark & Erica, made us feel very welcome and added a nice personal touch to our Taos experience. Jeff & Gwen Olmstead, Bloomfield, CT

We stayed at the Hacienda del Sol one night in mid-September. We drove in from Santa Fe across the High Road, and had a wonderful time just getting to Taos. Once we arrived, though, things got even better! We loved our room (the Adobe, a bit off the main courtyard but with great furnishings). We sat and had wine looking at the Santo Cristo mountains. We had a wonderful dinner at Graham's Grill, and then a relaxing soak in the hot tub. Wonderful breakfast, charming hosts, lovely place and comfortable setting - all terrific!
