This has become our "comfort" restaurant. We're regulars. In a cellar downtown, an interesting ambience. Waitstaff is great. Portions are generous and reliable. The brick oven pizzas are great as appetizers. We always take home half the meal. try the pork chop pizziola or the veal carciofe!

J. Michael's has a very different atmosphere from anywhere else in Binghamton. Formerly called The Cellar, you go a set of stairs to the basement. Far from claustrophobic, however, the ambience is cozy and Mediterranean feeling. Waitress was excellent, and the food was phenomenal, although too much to eat at one time. Give it a try, you will not be disappointed.

This restaurant was one suggested at our hotel as being a popular one with hotel guests within walking distance.

Our waiter was fun and helpful and he soon had us talked into ordering from the restaurant's grilled pizza menu. The four of us ordered 2 of the grilled pizzas, one vegetarian, one meat. We asked for several additions to each of the pizzas that were not on the menu. Our requests were accommodated. These grilled pizzas are some of the best pizza I have had in a long time! We washed it down with some cheap and cheerful red wine. The four of us left full and happy.

The cellar-like setting (it is in the basement of an office building) is a bit odd. The restaurant is definitely dated and could do with an upgrade, which could actually take the ambience of the place from "odd" to "quirky and fun".

This is the second time i have gone here and both times have been disappointing. The first was a couple years ago, so I decided to try it again. It was bad from the get go. Our hostess was short and seemed bothered she had to adjust the wobbly table. Our waiter was fine and assured us he would have us on our way knowing that we had a 7:30pm show nearby. Our reservations were at 6pm, we did not get our food until 7:05pm. The veal was cold, the shrimp was frozen and the pasta was not drained well, so water was all over the dish. The entire meal awful. Will never go back and would never recommend.

This restaurant is in the basement of an office building. Odd cave-like entrance as you descend the stairs. But, the food is great, and plentiful! I had the Veal Saltimbocca and my wife had the Chicken Parmesan. We both asked for the oven roasted potatoes as a side. Meals came with house salads (OK) and bread. We were both quite satisfied with the entrees. My veal dish was outstanding. Portions were huge. My wife took half of her Chicken parm home and we split it for dinner the next evening. Friendly staff and quick service. Parking available on the street (meters, one hour limit) or in the parking garage across the street.
