The be fair, we have dined here several times and have been pleased with the food and the lively atmosphere. Both of those were missing on the Saturday night of Octoberfest weekend. The one constant was the attentive waitstaff who was unobtrusive, and attentive. This restaurant always greets the tables with warm rolls, breadsticks, coleslaw and a tray of carrots and celery. Immediate disappointment was that the rolls and breadsticks tasted old, The carrot stick was spongy and felt like it had been soaking up water for a long time before it got to the table. The sauerbraten dinner began with cool, oil drenched potato pancakes, followed by a decent house salad, meat that was not hot, the dish was, not the food, and accompanying sides just reheated and not freshly made. Then the apple strudel. It tasted sour and almost musty. One diner sent it back, others ate it and one barely ate it. Waitstaff apologized nicely and offered to cut a slice from another tray, but said that the other tray had been made the same time as the first. No adjustment to the bill for this either. We were gracious diners and paid the bill and left.
