We stayed at this hotel near the Fort Drum military base for 2 nights. I really liked the room except that it does not have full curtains, just sheers which means the light comes into the room very early in the morning. It was a convenient location for shopping in Watertown. The room is reasonably modern with a full size fridge, dishwasher, microwave, cook top and dishes. Beds were comfortable. The hotel has free laundry and barbeque facilities. The only other issue was with the A/C. It cycles on and off all night which makes it hard to sleep with the inconsistent sounds. It should have a control that allows the fan to blow all night long for a more restful night's sleep.

Room Tip: Ask for a top floor room.

I walked into my room and immediately thought, what the hell is this? The room was decorated in what can only be described as government ghetto. Stained and worn furniture. No art. A kitchen of questionable cleanliness, a steadily running toilet. The toilet I could fix. The rest was abysmal.

Come morning I wanted to catch up on email. I pulled out a striped chair from the desk/dining table only to be greeted with a skid mark from some previous pantless, filthy guest! The staff was kind enough to replace the chair. But seriously? Who does this?

What troubled me most was that so many military families were staying in this squalid place! These people deserve so much better than platitudes and filth.

Avoid this place until they clean up their act!

As we pulled up to the hotel everything from the outside was clean and well maintained. Was greeted very professional, there was also a whiteboard with my name on it. Almost feel like a VIP. The room was small, yet cleaned, just wished the little kitchen area was bigger. It did meet our needs. Did the bed bug check and they passed. The only downfall to the hotel is that it’s outside of the fun areas, just a short drive and you’re there but on vacation it’s better to be able to walk to. Walmart and other fast food place are right there which helps. Overall I would stay here in the future.

A real dump. Worn out furniture, creaky beds, front desk service guy hasn’t got a clue. The place has no breakfast. 1 slow elevator, 1 glass in the bath, 1 bar of soap, housekeeping only once a week. This will be the last time we ever stay in a Candlewood.

Stayed 2 nights and the staff were more than friendly and accommodating. They have various coffee and tea to chose from free any time of day. Each unit has a full size fridge, microwave, dishwasher and cook top along with plates, glasses, cutlery, pots/pans etc. So you can cook meals right in your room. The room was quiet and clean; except for an oversize lounge chair (lazy boy style) was ready for the garbage dump it was sooo worn out we wouldn't even use it. You are right beside Dairy Queen, Wal-Mart, pizza place and a few other smaller stores therefore, very convenient locaiton.
They had a borrowing library that had waffle irons, blenders, cork screws and many other kitchen type items to borrow along with a lot of board games to use.
I would stay here again
