We recently celebrated the 80th Birthday of a family member here at the Red Shed. Adjacent to the cafe there is an area set aside for functions. This area is rustic but a very pleasant place for a family gathering. Plenty of seats for the older people and lots of room for those that prefer to stand and mingle.
The food was awesome - canapés were plentiful and delicious, followed by rolls with hot ham, sausage rolls, brownies and cake for desert.
I was really impressed with the staff who were attentive to our needs and happy to go that extra mile.
Would really recommend this place for a function.

Nice rambling cafe set in the country. Eclectic decor and a Sunday market make it a nice stop in. Lots of locals mainly. Serves hearty lunched and is licensed.

If you are feeling to have breakfast or lunch out in the country then you need to visit the Red Shed Palazzo. We went for a few times for breakfast for a drive out of Auckland. You sit between plants and little waterfalls. The surroundings is so tranquil and with lots of hide away tables if you want a bit of privacy. They also have sections where bigger groups can be housed in the garden setup. Perfect for birthday parties and get togethers.

Red Shed has an enchanting array of outdoor glades and hidden nooks in which to enjoy your coffee and/or lunch. But their long term lack of maintenance is disappointing. I mean some of the built-in seats were falling apart and would be dangerous to try and sit on.

A poor showing for a cafe that is proud of its 'Cafe of the Year' award.

Just be careful of what you sit on.

I’ve been here so many times for brunches and lunches I’ve lost count. There are many setting and seating options both indoors and outdoors depending on the season and daily weather.
It’s a rustic and funky place. Artwork and aprons around for sale etc adding colour and vibrancy.
It’s a popular spot in the weekends, but we’ve always found despite being a large restaurant and seemingly full.... meals always coming out fast and efficiently. This is a real credit. There is a wide range of interesting and different dishes to choose from along with the more popular classics.
