We really enjoyed Nosy Be, hotel Andilana; what an amazing little paradise!
The hotel was perfect, the food (Italian!) was excellent, the ocean water so clear and warm, Pieter had a good time fishing his GT...I just did not want to leave...a week is definitely too short.
Very attentive staff, beautiful beach, nicely decorated hotel lounge, good boutiques in the hotel....we would love to come back and maybe combine it with a 4x4 drive on the main island of Madagascar as this looked very nice from the air as we flew over.

I stayed at Andilana Beach Resort for 1 week at the beginning of September with a group of 39 people.
We stayed in different Bravo resorts and this is by all means the best ever!!!
Starting from the room, I shared that with a friend of mine and we had 2 double beds!!! The forniture was basic, 1 chair, T V air conditioning. The toilet was good too. Both were cleaned and made up everyday at every time of the day.
The restaurant was amazing, open and looking at the beach, the waiters are all locals and they really deserve a tip at the end of the stay!!! The kitchen was absolutely flawless!!! We had any kind of fish you can imagine, including lobsters and crabs. Pasta was very well cooked too!
The bar was the first I've ever seen open 24/7!!! With service all-inclusive, rums with vanilla/cannella/pineapple, very good espresso with friendly people.
The beaches were amazing too: one is with entertainment and music during the day, the other is completely quite with only the noise of the sea...
There is also a very big swimming pool just in front of the beach!!!
They offered tea with bisquits (delicious) at 5.30pm and a buffet of appetisers at 7pm.
The entertainment staff was very nice and very funny, even if they change 2/3 times per year.
I also used the massage center and there was a deal offer for 50 mins of massage at 19€, and the girls where perfect!!!
The resort was very well manteined and spotless, they have drinking water from the taps that in Africa is basically impossible...
The boutique was a little bit expensive but the people were very friendly.
The negative spot: the trip of half a day, one day or more days were incredibly expensive, we found exactly the same trip with the guys on the beach at 40€ instead of 85€!!! Other negative spot is the owner of the resort: he lives in the resort (and that is probably why the resort is so well mantained) but he is also very rude!!!
Overall has been an excellent holiday.

Posh all inclusive place on Andilana beach. They run on a different time zone which is 1 hour ahead of the local time. The rooms are plush, buffet food decent and the pool and private bech is brilliant. Nice place to go for a beach vacation if you want to experience a nice beach which could be anywhere in the world. The only negative is that you are completely cut off from the local culture.

We spent an amazing week starting from the January 4, 2009!
Taking into account the place, the hotel is very good! It is located in a wonderful Andilana beach. Actually there are two beaches: one is very quite and is ideal for romantic stay together, the other one is with animation. Sea is amazing! Staffs (both Italians and Malagasy) are very friendly and funny. All the day there are different animation programs and sport activities (volleyball, canoe etc), evenings are colored by shows and piano bar music.
Food is typically Italian, quality is good. The hotel has its own territory. On the territory of the hotel they have 4 crocodiles and wonderful tortoise (he is 125 years old!) which brings lots of joy to children and big Italian guys (children by default:) The territory of the hotel is very safe. They even do anti malaria treatment of the territory. There are different types of excursions: to the island around, to the forest on Nosy Be and to the fisherman village where you can feed lemurs from your hand!!! They have a diving school as well. We tried to dive in parco marino (Nosy Tanikely) and saw murena, sea turtle and scat!!! There is also 4 days excursion to the north of Madagaskar. Unfortunately we didn’t have time for it, but we decided to do it next time when we come back!
People leaving in Nosy Be are very poor but not noise like in some other poor countries. I was shocked when they asked to give them a little bit of soup or shampoo when we will leave. Also they are asking for shoes and backpacks for their children so of you can, you could leave something for them because they are very nice!
So I do recommend this hotel for families with children, for couples for romantic vacations! The place is amazing!!!
