Dona Urraca Hotel & Spa

Located from town square area of Queretaro, about 5 minutes walk. Street level nothing special but once enter the courtyard, it is gorgeous. Old yet new. Beautiful and unique. Everything blended in well between old and new, natural vs fresh decoration. Room is large and wow factor. Internet working in some area only. Price quite expensive.

Room Tip: overlooking pool

We arrived at this very lovely, modern hotel, impressed by the water fountain system as you entered. Reception was great. We were able to upgrade and still paid way less than one would have expected. We were wowed by our rooms. We were in 5 and 6. Everything was just perfect...more than perfect. We actually wanted extend our stay another day but unfortunately they were unable to accommodate that. However, we left our bags to spend a day in the city. In the meantime they checked on bus schedules for us and even allowed us to use the hot tub even though we had checked out hours before. It is a wonderfully beautiful place and if/when we return to San Miguel Allende, we are already planning to stay there. It is modern very clean, quiet. Everyone was super nice. There are not enough accolades. It is only 3 blocks to center city so even location was great. Just wonderful!

Good location, nice hotel but internet and tv was not working. For a so called 5 star hotel, I expected at least internet and tv service.

Service is amicable but requires further professional training. There is potential in this hotel. They just need to train their staff more, prepare for contingencies and have a plan.

I travelled during the month of august 2015.

I stayed just one night at this boutique hotel...but had a super experience. Nice rooms, new and updated. All the amenities of a 5 star boutique hotel. Great bed, amazing shower. The restaurant is a jewel...although service may be slow at times. Breakfast was very good, just get there with plenty time...service was slow...

Room Tip: Rooms further away from the restaurant are quieter

It is a very cozy hotel in the heart of the city. Traditional and very comfortable to enjoy a long weekend with couple, family or friends. It has a very nice garden and swimming pool, very good kitchen and a good bar.

Room Tip: the rooms in the back, top floors have nice views

It might be a little difficult to find, with minimum signage and the barn doors closed late at night, but inside is a fantastic low-rise hotel. Staff are great, rooms beautifully appointed and maintained. Only criticism is that noise can transfer into rooms from outside (other guests), for instance when wheeling suitcases along the tiled corridors, or just groups conversing in the corridors. Might have to consider more acoustic suppression (wall hangings, or carpet).

This is a lovely little Gem. The rooms are very beautiful, and well equipped. The hotel is small and feels homely. Staff were all very kind. I did not (unfortunately) have a chance to visit the spa... I could not hear any noise (despite the fact that the hard floors in the corridors may help sound travel). Waking up to the view of their well maintained center court and pool was a pleasure.
