“Clean hotel, nice staff, close to Cornell”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 22 July 2011

Stayed here for two nights while attending a wedding held at Cornell.

Relative to the prices in the area, this hotel was a great deal -- paid about $200 after tax for two nights.

The room was basic but spotlessly clean. Strong air conditioner, good water pressure. Breakfast was simple -- individual cereals, coffee, orange juice, bananas and pastries. All perfect for grabbing and bringing on the road or back to the room. Parking is ample.

The hotel is run by a very nice family who lives on the premises. They clearly take pride in the hotel and each family member we encountered (daughter at breakfast, mother at check in, father later in the night), was cordial and not intrusive.

Overall Embassy Inn delivers what you pay for and is definitely well-worth the money. It's clean, cheery, basic and conveniently located.

The Motel was clean and good for a one night stay. The carpet smelled and needed cleaning. Breakfast consisted of wrapped pastries and no place to sit down. We booked thru expedia which quoted as a total price; upon arrival we were charged an additional 20% for taxes and booking fees.

I had a convention nearby and just needed a place to sleep. I'm not picky, I just wanted a clean room, working shower and quiet a/c. The hotel delivered all those at a price about half of what everyone else charged. They had a small but decent continental breakfast with fruits, name brand cereals and pastries.

Older establishment, small but clean and quiet room. Breakfast included tea/coffee, cereal, muffins, and bananas. It was quite adequate for our overnight, and better than some that are fancier. Bed was very comfortable. Also, just down the road (walking distance) from an excellent restaurant – The Antlers.

Attending a track meet in Cornell ...didn't want a big box hotel ....wanted low key and quiet...but above all CLEAN...the Embassy Motel TOTALLY fit the bill...mind you no fancy frills....but clean as a whistle, competent, accomodating & nice staff, neat as a pin room and quiet.

This was one of the oddest hotels I've ever stayed in, but would explain the cheaper price. The room was relatively small, with one night stand and a table and two chairs, but no dresser, although there was a bureau mirror on the wall with a blowdrier and a rack from which to hang up clothes and put luggage on. There was no refrigerator, no ironing board and iron. There were lights, but some of them didn't work or bulbs were burned out. The TV hung from the wall and there weren't alot of channels that came in clear, but there was free wireless internet service. The room was extremely clean, however, and the bathroom was also clean, although the towels were of an inferior quality and ran a little small. Water pressure in the bathroom was poor and the showerhead provided a minimum of coverage. My husband is over six feet tall with broad shoulders. Took him quite awhile to get clean and took me a long time to get the shampoo from my hair. We did not have a refrigerator. But, we weren't in town to hang out in the hotel. It was a place to sleep after a day at nearby Robert H. Treman Park and Taughannock Falls. And, if you have a chance, drive around Cornell University and be sure to take a walk at Beebe Trail around the park and waterfall there. There was coffee and danish breakfast in the lobby to be brought back to the room in the morning which was better than nothing at least. The room was actually overpriced for the accommodations, but considering the area, it was less than other hotels that offered more. If passing through the area again, I would stay again tho because it was clean and the bed was comfortable.

Stayed here for a night in July 2010. Paid $85. It looked like there had been some updates done, but it was still a bit run down. It was clean and the owner was very helpful and courteous. There are some great restaurants within minutes in Ithaca. This was a basic room. If you are passing through and just need a bed for the night this will do.
