I spent two weeks at Heliophora end of November / beginning of December 2015. The remote location, away from the hustle and bustle of any cities or other distractions was ideal to slow down and recharge my batteries....and go windsurfing, of course. There is lots of open space on the water, and a good and up-to-date selection of windsurfing and kitesurfing equipment.
Great respect to Rachid and the team for implementing an eco-friendly camp that manages energy, water and waste in a way appropriate to the local conditions.
The food at Heliophora is excellent (three good meals a day at fixed times). This is beautiful simplicity, as you don't have to make a lot of choices. Just turn up and enjoy the good food.
As we were few guests during this period, there was a chance to learn a lot from the good staff at Heliophora about the camp, the area and about Morocco.
Overall, a very worthwhile stay. Can't wait to come again!

My days at Heliophora were just sublime. The location could not be better and the staff is extremely friendly. When we arrived at the Dakhla airport someone from the staff came from to take us to the camp, which is more than welcome given the local transportation. The facilities are supreme and I especially admire them for the effort of building everything with natural elements in order to offer and promote eco-tourism. Way to go guys! One of the things I loved the most were the yoga lesions with Sana. I would recommend this place to everyone. You will not regret staying here!

Kiting virginity that is (and sadly Sir Branson wasn't part of this adventure) ;)

I was looking for a chilled-out place where I could learn kiting and wasn't crowded or commercial - i got that and MORE! This place and the people have a fantastic energy - there's soul here! A hidden, beautiful beach with constant wind, plenty of space for beginners to pros. The place seems to attract amazing staff (Rachid, Sana, Salah "The Man", Tanja, Hamza, kitchen crew) and guests (Andre, Isabelle, Olivier "The Dude"), all of whom supported me across this adventure - patience, friendliness, loads of passion, beauty, relaxation, delicious food, amazing bonding / laughs - in short, lasting memories :)

Shout out to my instructor Salah for giving me the gift of his time, knowledge and now friendship - شكرا hermano! :) See you all soon! abz xx

Room Tip: Ask for bungalows facing the beach.. ask to go to the Dream Spot.. and if you don't mind sharing, ask for the tagine Family-style ;) abz x

We went to this new camp for kitesurfing activities. It has 21 nice bungalows in small lagoon directly on the other side of Dakhla city / bay circa 80 kilometers ride from airport, 40 km from other camps and 20 km from Duna Blanca.
Electricity from the sun, low water consumption and no fecal water in the sea because of dry toilets :)
Bungalows are bigger than expected, enough water for shower, but be rational (ECO).
Very good Moroccan food (Tajine), big new restaurant with beautiful view all over the place.
Friendly staff with chance to improve service (ordering missing drinks, food...).
Poor internet but you are in the desert so this is acceptable.
Very good value for money performance so we would visit this place again for sure!

Room Tip: Check room interior before choosing the room, go for beach front bungalow :)
