My wife and I were in Kingston on a getaway and the reviews and our inn keeper suggested this place for a good dinner.

The place had old school charm and we decided to forego the outdoor seating despite the wonderful weather and enjoy the ambiance of the dining room.

We had a the sausage and cheese plate as an appetizer and it was good choice. Tasty and light.

I had the Mango Orange Salmon and my wife had the pan seared Bronzino. Both were scrumptious.

We enjoyed the warm Godiva Chocolate cake for dessert.

Only drawback was that despite being very friendly our waiter wasn't too attentive. Could've been an off night for him but overall the restaurant was top notch.

We went to Ship to Shore to celebrate our anniversary and arrived for dinner at 7. We were seated immediately but it took quite some time before our waiter came to our table to take our drink & food order. We were about to ask if there was a waiter for our table when he finally arrived. It appeared that they only had 2 waiters on to cover the entire dining room and patio.

The table next to us was seated after us but received their drinks and entrees before we did. We ordered the Yellow Fin Tuna Stack appetizer which came out quickly and was excellent. I highly recommend it!

For entrees we ordered the Zuppe di pesce special and the rack of lamb medium rare. We did not receive our entrees until after 8:20. The food was excellent but the kitchen was way too slow in preparing the entrees in my opinion.

The lady that helps the wait staff was excellent. She brought us water & bread with olive oil, refilled our waters and she was the one who came to our table and asked if we would like anything wrapped up to take home. She wrapped our leftovers for us, brought them back to the table and asked us if we would like to see the dessert menu. She is also the one who brought us our drinks from the bar and our entrees. A different waiter brought us our appetizer. Overall our waiter took our drink & entree order, checked on us once or twice and brought us our check.

Ship to Shore makes excellent food but they seem very understaffed. An hour and 20 minutes for our entrees to come out is a bit excessive. We did not leave the restaurant until after 9. We would be willing to give them another try but if the service and the wait time for food are the same then we will not go back. Not interested in spending $150 for dinner that takes an hour and a half to arrive.

Had dinner here while on an eight week boat trip. Quality lamb lollipop appetizer and very good entrees. Service was impeccable. That kind where the waiter magically appears with what you need before asking and doesn't bother you otherwise. Four stars versus five because five stars is reserved in my mind for amazing food. But I highly recommend the place.

You can never go wrong with a dinner from Ship to Shore. The food is perfectly portioned (you may even have leftovers). I recently went there and had the BBQ chicken Mac and cheese and is was spectacular. It is an ala carte restaurant so any sides or extra will cost money. For a deal check out the burger and beer night on Mondays.

Big bar crowd, good food but over priced, door was open & flies kept landing on our food. Server was sweet but couldn't get back to our table because too busy. They probably need more servers. We tried it again with the same experience. We were given a gift certificate & tried it again much earlier in evening but had to keep asking for things we ordered. Steak was raw. Lobster wasn't cooked through on 1st visit but 2nd visit, it was delicious! Glad we didn't bring our daughter...not a family place. Great for a bar scene! Many middle and people were hanging out looking to meet others. A few younger people at bar (one couple had a baby sitting on the bar which seemed odd). Overall, it was too loud, hot, bugs coming in from outside as wait staff served folks outside. We've tried to be fair & have dined there 3 times each year for the past two years. We won't go back.
