Had a limited amount of time in Lake George but definitely wanted a ride on the lake so we chose the one hour ride on The Minne-Ha-Ha which was a totally delightful. The boat leaves the dock and travels along the eastern shore line for distance then crosses over to the western shore and back to the dock. There is a very good narration of what you are seeing and we were impressed by the sound system which was crisp and everyone could enjoy what was being said. The narrator did a great job of gving just enough information for this short cruise. Meanwhile the big paddlewheel at the back churned and the steam curled from the stack and everyone was invited to go look at the boats "innard" the working steam engine that propels the large wheel at the stern of the boat.
As we were leaving they asked everyone to stay for a few moments dockside as the steam calliope played -- that was truly a smile inducing moment watching those pipes belch steam and tune from the turn of the 20th century.
This is a nice ride for all ages -- not too long to bore the kids and just long enough to make you wish it could go on for a bit longer.
