instead of going out of state, we settled to stay in NY state due to covid and we chose Lakefront Terrace Resort because of the supposedly amazing beachfront/lakeview but our room was beachside and not front view at all but that was ok. we were given 5% discount by owner Ken but still pricey for 4 nights and we were over charged on kayak rental, no refund issued for time we did not use the kayak & already returned the paddle & vest, they could be more organized and communicated better the rental rules. refused to refund so we are disappointed. this hotel resort is not walking distance to the village, there is no sidewalk to walk to the village and we did not see the trolley come to this site. we have to drive even though 5 min to village it was hard to find a parking spot at the resort, it was always full. our bed was not comfortable. we will have second thoughts staying at this hotel again.

Room tip: go for the front lakeview not just beachside

The outside of this motel made me a little anxious because it seemed old..however, the room was immaculate and completely remodeled!! We were very pleased with our stay here...the private beach was a decent size with many lounge chairs and lots of swimming space!! The pool was large compared to some of the other Lake George pools and there is a snack / drink bar right at the pool (the snack bar had basic bar food ..burgers, quesadillas, chicken fingers etc). We saw staff maintaining the grounds and everyone was pleasant.

This motel is not walking distance to the main Lake George village but less than a 5 minute ride. We had a courtyard room and it was loud at night as people were hanging out in the courtyard. However, it didn’t last all night and we didn’t really care...people were enjoying their vacation!! We had a table and 2 chairs outside of our room which was nice !

Overall the beach area, newly remodeled rooms and on-site snack/drink bar make this motel a great place to stay!! Definitely recommended !!

Beautiful hotel. Clean and friendly people. The only reason I am not giving this 5 stars is because we did not have 1 night of full uninterrupted sleep. We don't know if the bed was to soft or to hard. We can't put our fingers on it. The comforter didn't really fit the bed properly. The sides were to short so my husband and I struggled to get covers at night lol.

Lake George was not my family's originally planned vacation destination this summer & we had booked this hotel as a backup plan - so glad we did! It is in no way a 5 star resort, but the room was extremely clean when we checked in & the lakeview balcony room we reserved was amazing. The room also had a good sized refrigerator and a microwave, which is very helpful. There is a nice private beach, a pool complete with a snack/drink bar, and lots of tables on the property to sit and have a meal. Kayaks & paddleboards can be rented from the office for a nominal fee. The staff is very pleasant and helpful. We saw them out early every morning hard at work cleaning and sanitizing, which is great to see at this time.

The downside - there is no housekeeping during COVID - this is everywhere, not just here. I did my research beforehand and brought cleaning supplies and a swiffer. You can call over to the office in the mornings for new towels, etc. & they are delivered to the outside of your room pretty quickly. My only complaints with the hotel itself were that the kayak/paddleboard rental process could be more organized. There are also seemingly no quiet hours and most nights there were rowdy people partying down in the courtyard pretty late - fortunately the a/c drowned it out. What it didn't cover though was the septic truck arriving promptly at 7:40 every morning, it would be nice if the management could arrange a later time so guests can sleep. The exterior of the property is a bit older, & it is a bit buggy since you are on a lake, but we came in expecting that as well

Room tip: As long as you don't have a problem with stairs or a hill, book a lakeview room. The view is well worth it!
