Choose this hotel for location and brand name. Found the room on the ground floor very musty and dated. Beds were comfortable and the overall room was clean.
Hotel was full so parking was an issue. Parking lot was a sheet of ice so it was also treacherous to walk.
Breakfast was good, plenty and lots of options.
Locations was great. Easy walk up to main street, right across from Olympic Oval, Hockey rink museum.

This hotel has a great location near downtown Lake Placid, a fantastic breakfast, and a pretty cool pool area...BUT...it is apparently frequented by youth hockey teams. Very loud, disrespectful teams with no parental or coach supervision.

We stayed for two nights, and hardly slept at all. The first night, kids from the hockey teams kept running through the halls and knocking on our door, which terrified my very young children. At 11:00, they were still doing it, despite the fact that at least one other family besides our own had notified the front desk staff. It happened again the next afternoon, and when we went downstairs to use the pool, we had to navigate through a crowd of rowdy kids, again with no parents in sight. The second night, the kids were playing tag in the hallways at 10pm, until I went to the front desk and requested that someone please ask them to quiet down, since once again, my own young kids couldn't sleep. 45 minutes later it still sounded like there were elephants jumping on the beds upstairs.

Bottom line: Despite its charms, WE WOULD NEVER, EVER STAY IN THIS HOTEL AGAIN. We don't look for perfect peace and quiet in a hotel (that's just unrealistic), but this hotel was ridiculous! (And the staff is obviously more accomodating to rambunctious hockey teams than parents with young kids who are trying to have a nice weekend)

Try the Courtyard Marriott right outside of town. It is brand new and was recommended to us by a friend. We wish we had stayed there.

Room Tip: If you have to stay here... just don't. There are a ton of other options in the area.

Stayed for one night at the Best Western Adirondack Inn in Lake Placid. Great location, you can walk to anywhere downtown. One we parked there I didn't use the car again. Pool, hot tub and sauna were nice and in good condition, don't know what a previous reveiwer was talking about. Nothing over the top but the room was nice, beds comfortable and everything was clean. A real solid value - would stay there again.

It is so comfortable and easy here. The staff treats us so nice. The location is near to everything. The lobby is comfortable by the fire. The breakfast is enjoyable in the quiet diningroom. My new favorite place to stay in Lake Placid.

Room Tip: The rooms on the lake side are quieter.

I have stayed here many times in the past and just recently in February of 2012. I have never been diappointed. New owners continue to upgrade the property and it has a great Adirondack Theme. I loved the free breakfast, new pool, the friendly staff, but most of all the location; directly across the street from the Olympic Arena and Convention Center. It is walking distance to everything without going up or down the big hill to the Crown Plaza. It is a great hotel for the easy-going traveler.
