I spent a night at the Ravel and enjoyed the accomodations - not luxurious but roomier than most NYC hotels. Staff is especially helpful, accomodating and friendly - shuttle service is important benefit. Views of NYC are spectacular - lovely rooftop restaurant for breakfast, dinner and drinks. Location makes Manhattan readily accessible by cab or easy subway ride. Don't take a room near the elevators - was noisy. Toiletries provided are good quality too.

for your first visted to NYC this has to place to see . it stayed a few years and to be honest ill never forget it.there was a small mix up when i checked in but the manger looked after it and upgraded the room to the penthouse it was unreal. the view from the hotel was the best iv saw and iv travelled the world you can see the the whole skyline of NYC.

the room was really big and up to date and the staff were helpful . a bit out from the city but there is subway near the hoteland takes 15 mins to get into the city if your out late at night and want a taxi it only cost 15/20 dollars to get back which is good.

iv since being to NYC and stayed in the city but for first time visters go here trust me

Very modern and boutique sized hotel in LIC has great views of Manhattan and the Queensboro bridge. Rooms are very spacious for NYC and all the amenities in the room and decor feel brand new. The hotel itself offers wine by the glass in the lobby 24 hours a day, through their fancy wine machines. The restaurant at the top of the hotel is called penthouse 808. Restaurant has the best views of manhattan, attentive service and tasty food, espcially the fried rice and sushi! The hotel staff was very friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend this place to stay if you are looking to stay in LIC!

Room Tip: Ask for the 4th floor. This is the highest floor you can stay on.

The worst thing about this hotel was the condition of the rooms--They weren't awful, but there were scrapes and scratches all over the walls and it needed a good dusting.

The only other weird thing is that the toilet is only enclosed by glass walls, so you can hear anything that goes on in there. The bathroom area was clean and the shower was terrific!

Now the good stuff:

Definitely get a room with a balcony, at least the upper ones offer an amazing view of Manhattan, the Queensboro Bridge, a neat old church across the street (currently being renovated), and a small park just down the road.

Nice roof top bar and restaurant with good food but pricey drinks (it is New York, prepare to have your wallet emptied).

A little hard to find initially, but super great location in Queens, only two sub stops away from Central Park and the hotel offers a free shuttle to the nearest subway station every hour (its only about a ten minute walk anyways). The neighborhood is fairly industrial, felt comfortable out during the day but definitely recommend getting a taxi or shuttle at night (the closest subway station is next to a housing project).

The staff were all very friendly and helpful, I would stay there anytime I am back in the Big Apple!

Room Tip: The bar on the top floor can get loud, so go for a lower level if you are sensitive to noise.

I stayed at this hotel on Saturday May 19 of this year. At first i was a little upset because i was really hungry, and they informed me the restaurant was closed for a private event. Luckily the front desk staff which were really helpful, informed me that i can order room service from 5 to 10pm. I really recommend the Ravel Roll and the Skirt steak flatbread, which were out of this world delicious. Luckily the front desk also informed me that u dont have to be a hotel guest to dine at the restaurant, so i will definitely be coming again for food and drinks at the rooftop bar. The private event finished at 11pm and the lounge opened up until 3AM. Me and my boyfriend had a blast drinking and dancing to great variety music, while enjoying the view of the city. It's definitely an astonishing view at night with all the bright lights and skyscrapers of manhattan. I would really reccomend this hotel if your looking for a great place to dine, drink and dance. Ravel Hotel is definitely the best rooftop i've seen in Long Island City, i would definitely stay again.

Room Tip: Penthouse rooms have a great view of the city with a balcony.

I stayed at Ravel while friends of mine were in town visiting from Norway. We wanted to all stay together and my apt in too small. I had been to Ravel before, but only for the roof top restaurant Penthouse 808 ( which has epic views of the city skyline and of the 59th st bridge). I new that it was a nice hotel that was close to Manhattan and wasn't priced like Manhattan. when i saw the room i was staying in i was stoked on the great the value. I had a comfy queen bed, Views of the city, and decor that looked like it was out of a modern apt on the upper east side. Another great thing was it was two stops to the city on the train. we had the complimentary shuttle take us the whole 3 blocks to the train, and was in Time Square with in 10 mins including the shuttle. I always knew the food here was good, but when i stayed here its my new "go to" recommendation for staying in New York at a great price.

Room Tip: ask for western views to see the city..

I recently stayed here on a trip to visit family in NYC. The hotel staff was friendly and helpful. My favorite thing about this place was the rooftop bar that has an incredible view of the city, delicious cocktails and slamming sushi! There is also a great party on the roof every Sunday that features house music. We danced all night!
