We stayed at The Lake House for 3 nights. It had everything we wanted and more. We have an old dog that can't do steps, check. We want to be on the water, check. Large enclosed porch, check. The bonus with the porch is a gas powered fireplace. Comfortable beds, check. Now to share all of the additional amenities. Kayaks and a canoe free to use, fire pits, 3 docks, everything you could ask for in a kitchen even a dishwasher,WiFi and Dish TV. We love it here. If it's available in October, we'd like to come back for another week.

A close friend and her husband have wanted to come back to Long Lake- where her dad grew up, and family had owned Longview Lodge for 5 generations. On a whim, I asked them if they wanted to come with my youngest daughter and me. I looked online for a place to stay. Lucky for me, I found Journeys End!

The proprietors were willing to rent out one of their cottages to us for part of a week. What a lovely, clean and comfortable cottage. Simple, but at the same time cozy and homey!!! We had more than adequate kitchen facilities, a beautiful picnic table to use- right near the water, and charcoal grill right outside our cottage. Nancy and Jorge, our hosts are so personable and their dog, Paco, was so cute!

We love the water -a dock is on the property - 3 Adirondack chairs are stationed there. A perfect place for morning coffee or sitting to watch the sunset and listen for the loons. Kayaks-, a canoe and stand up paddleboards are available for guests to enjoy at no additional al cost. There is a firepit on the small beach area, and we enjoyed sharing campfires with our neighbors.

Just a wonderful place! I have already emailed my family about JE- hoping we can plan a family reunion here for a week next summer. Journey's End is just one more reason to LOVE Long Lake! Thank you Nancy and Jorge!!

We stayed in the Lake House at Journey's End, and it was great. The house was clean and well-appointed. Beautiful views of the lake right off the porch. A propane grill was included with the house, and there was a firepit in the backyard - perfect for roasting marshmallows at the end of the day.The cabin came with kayaks, a paddle board, an innertube float and a canoe. The signs at the house said "no swimming" but there was a beach and a dock and we got in the water anyway. Maybe the signs are there for liability purposes since the landlords aren't on the premises? Even though the owners were not on the premises, communications with them were always prompt, helpful and polite. Bonus: the house had great wi-fi. We would definitely book this house again.

For over a decade, my dad and I have rented a cottage at Journey's End for our annual Father's Day fishing weekend at Long Lake, and never once has our stay disappointed. And this year was no exception. For the first time, we, along with my brother-in-law, had the pleasure of renting the "Lodge," which for us struck a fine balance between modern convenience (if not luxury) and the rusticity of the Adirondack woods. As always, the house was well-appointed and the grounds well-maintained. And the property's large private dock--just steps from our door--made launching and tying up our boat every morning and afternoon pretty effortless.

From beginning to end, the new owners of Journey's End were a joy to work with. They responded quickly and thoroughly to all of our questions before arriving and even checked in with us during our stay to ensure that we had everything we needed (which we did). The caretaker of the property was also very pleasant and helpful (and was kind enough to let us in on a few fishing secrets we were unaware of!).

As a measure of our continued satisfaction, we have already booked a cottage for our 2016 Father's Day fishing trip. We recommend Journey's End without the slightest hesitation.

Room tip: The front of the Lodge comprises an enclosed porch/sitting room that offers a fantastic lakeside view. Very relaxing!

We haven't even completed our stay and we're already planning our return! This is a beautiful property with lovely accommodations. Let's be clear - if you want fancy, this isn't for you. But if you want a comfortable and well appointed retreat that feels like it's off the beaten path, but isn't? This IS the place for you!

The owners are lovely people who make every effort to insure that you're satisfied and the property itself is fantastic. You are 100 steps from Long Lake and (like us) will probably love sitting on the deck with a cocktail as the sun sets and listening to the loons call in the distance. When the sun rises, you'll probably want to walk down to the dock to enjoy your coffee as the ducks splash nearby.

The cottage suited our family perfectly - a great grill outside and a nicely stocked kitchenette inside (coffeemaker, fridge, plates, utensils, pots & pans, microwave). The kids' lives were made so much better by Dish TV and Wifi, too. The only drawback is that they weren't allowed to swim off the private beach - but that's not their fault - it's NY State law. Still, the town beach is about five minutes away and has slides and other goodies for the kids.

In all, if you're looking for a great place to enjoy some peace and quiet - and be comfortable as you do it, check out Journey's End. The hardest part of writing this review? I'd love to keep this place private - so we can return for years to come.
