This is something of a mixed review as I feel conflicted - the guy working here (Pete?) that checked us in was extremely helpful, friendly and informative (even though it was very late at night when we arrived), but the accommodation that we had definitely left something to be desired.
We had booked a cabin which (it turned out) was separate from the main lodgings (which were much more like the usual roadside motel offerings). This was both good and bad - the cabin was quiet and felt secluded (even though it was near a main road junction), but it was really quite run-down and would need a fair bit of TLC before it could be considered adequate.
I'd say the cabin needed a lot of work doing to it - there was a lot of damp (including an ominously bulging ceiling tile that looked ready to cave-in at any moment) and all the fixtures and fittings were run down, warped or broken to one degree or another.
There was a cooker in the cabin but nothing to use with it (pots, pans, cutlery, etc) - although there was also a microwave which worked fine (again, no utensils to use though). Not a huge probelm if you're good at adapting to situations.
It's true to say we didn't pay a lot for the experience, but you'd still expect accommodation in better conditon than this was.
I cannot speak for the main accommodation though - this may be perfectly fine as it is more modern and probably in more frequest use (i.e. less out of the way and forgotten about).
I must stress that the guy on reception was lovely and it's worth recommending the place just based on how well he treated us - please do give the place a go as it's just down from the Malta Drive-In Theater, which is definitely worth a visit.
