We were visiting the area from California. We always look on tripadvisor for recommendations for restaurants in an unfamiliar area. Blackstone Steakhouse seemed like a good choice. The two of us arrived without a reservation around 6:30 p.m. Friday evening, June 2nd. We were seated at a nice table. The restaurant has a "clubby" and comfortable feel. They had a special on premium wines that evening, but having arrived in New York that morning after a red-eye flight with little sleep, we decided we would not be able to fully enjoy fine wine that evening. I opted for a Bombay Sapphire Martini. It tasted good, and it was large. Extra olives were provided. We shared the wedge salad and the tuna crudo. The piece de resistance was a bone-in filet. Perfectly cooked. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Blackstone Steakhouse receives four stars rather than five because it is not in the class of Peter Luger or similar steakhouses. But it is very good.
