I stay in motels about 300 days a year all over the USA &sunny Canada and this in the WORST place I have even seen. Hallways stunk of smoke and marijuana. Room was terrible. I made them move me and did get a "better room". Shady people living in rooms and drug use is apparently ok. Do not stay here. The owner should be totally ashamed and this place should be shut down by the law.

After this stay, coupled with a previous experience at a Super 8 in Springfield, Ohio, I will likely never stay at a Super 8 again. After checking into the Super 8 in Montgomery, NY and arriving in my room, I noticed immediately upon turning down the bedcovers that the sheets had apparently not been cleaned since the last occupant stayed in the room. There were hairs in the sheets and mascara on one of the pillow cases. It was clear that the bed had been made up without changing the sheets and the pillows merely flipped to the "clean" side. Additionally, the toilet in the room was full of urine- it had not been flushed since it was last used. I then pointed out these problems to the front desk staff (who didn't apologize) and asked to be moved to a different room. They agreed to move me to a different room, and one hotel employee informed me that "The alarm clock in that room might be going off, but don't worry about it." He was right. The alarm clock was indeed going off. I could hear it from the end of the hall, so I'm sure that guests in other rooms could hear it quite clearly. This begs the question of why a hotel staff member, obviously aware that the alarm clock in that room was going off, would not just enter the room and turn it off. The answer seems to be that the staff of the Montgomery NY Super 8 simply don't care. Additionally, the "non-smoking" room I was moved to smelled like a combination of stale smoke and industrial adhesive. This was an awful hotel stay and, again, it is unlikely that I will ever stay in a Super 8 again, as this type of negligent management appears to be corporate policy.

This is a very old motel but it is clean. Towels are small & worn but also clean. Stayed here twice for 1 night stop on each stay. 1st time stayed in a downstairs room which needed updating badly including the mattress. Could use a new heating device also. 2nd stay we were upstairs & the room was better. Very good mattress and a little newer furniture. Towels were the same & the bathroom need an overhaul. Forget breakfast unless you are a sweets addict. Coffee wasn't bad. Watch out for safe charge, let them know you didn't use it or you'll be charged. Ok for 1 maybe even 2 nights if you don't need to stay in the room that much. Price was right $48.00 pr. You get what you pay for. Easy access to Rte 84.

The person who checked me in was friendly.
I stayed in room 226 which stinked like pee(urine) The carpet smelled like pee.
The bathroom smelled like it had been mopped with pee with yellow and brown around the bottom of the toilet.
I could not breath in there and I cut on the AC and the air that came out smelled like pee.
I had to open the window,I was so sick. The room and the hallway stinked like smoke
and I had NON-SMOKING room.
It was digusting.

This is a basic interstate motel, which generally is a place to get some sleep on the way to someplace else. It is pet friendly though they require you to call the motel to make a reservation as they have a limited number of "pet" rooms. Unfortunately not all the staff is informed or honest about the rates on the phone, and when you show up you will be charged something different (plus a "pet fee" which can make the cost of a night in this interstate motel more than its value).

Generally, this place is NOT a pet friendly location. It sits on a busy road with trucks headed for a behemoth truck stop nearby. There is no sidewalk and little grass for walking a dog. Oh and it is surrounded by very healthy poison ivy. So be careful!

Room Tip: Don't book with the motel itself!

Hands down the worst place I have ever stayed. The surrounding area is a truck stop and a storage area. The tv is an old tube television with the bubble fronts. The lights in the room are lamps which don't light the entry to the room, a definite safety hazard. My room was right under the stairs to the second level which sounded like a pack of elephants every time anyone used them. The walls and floors above creaked constantly. The bathroom was stocked with the bare essentials which meant 1 towel set and nothing besides basic soap. My checkout time was 12 and I had housekeeping open my door at 11 asking me if I was checking out today. Tried to do a load of laundry which they locked and stopped the dryer halfway though the cycle.

By far my greatest concern was the tap water. The tap water from the bathroom tap was WHITE with whatever water impurities it contained and actually felt slimy. It tasted horrible, at which point I began to notice all of the above. Water potability has never been a concern at any lodging I have stayed at before.

Would not stay again!
