Everything was lovely about this canoe ride. The canoe easily sat us and our 11 year old granddaughter. I can’t give a 5 rating though because of their imbecilic suggestion (stated as a requirement) to wear closed shoes. You definitely want water shoes to get out of the canoe to haul it up onto shore at the end of the trip or if you stop for a picnic.
We chose Canoes Loisirs as it looked the most professional of the many canoe companies based on the Dordogne and were not disappointed. The staff we're friendly and informative - we especially liked the printed guide which contains details about the tings you would see as you paddle downstream. We opted for the shortest (2.5 hours) package in kayaks and this was about perfect - enough time to see lots (including x 5 kingfishers) but not too long to get bored. The pick up at the rendezvous was prompt, the equipment was excellent. All round a great experience - would definitely recommend.
A great canoeing experience on the Dordogne, from Vitrac to Beynac-et-Cazenac. Staff at the rental area were friendly and eager to explain the necessary procedures for a safe 9 mile paddle. Pick up was easy and timely. Staff speaks English.
