The location is ok, as for all the "caldera view" hotels, but the service is lame. 20 minutes to get breakfast, only one people to manage ALL the customers (three empty tables on the photo, waiting to be served since 20 min at 9.50!). Without speaking of the bathroom : NO HOT WATER, you have to switch on a water heater to get some, etc. There are definitely better hotels for the same price in Thira. The only thing that compensates a bit is the kindness of the staff.

We were in Santorini for 7 days! AMAZING!!!! We arrived around 9 pm. The transfers from the airport to and from the hotel were flawless. The service was top notch. Thanks to Maria (Front desk) and Dimitris also front desk who were very professional in the way they dealt with our arrival to the departure. They even helped us make reservations to a few restaurants. When i had difficulty with my credit card, they helped me call long distance to deal with the matter. We had room 14! The best in the hotel, I think. it stood independently from the others with a balcony. The room had all modern amenities. Air condition was A+ (110% perfect). The bathroom facilities were very modern. Our room was often made just before 10 am. They work hard at this hotel to make gusts feel special and comfortable. Breakfast every morning was very nice. The views from our room and from the breakfast area were amazing. Our friends are still talking about the pictures we posted (300 + to be exact). I will recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Santorini. It is well located to restaurants, shopping, lounges, etc. We will return soon!!!!

Room Tip: Best views, great, friendly service!

Kavalari really upset us. the position is very good for fira but is it really not worth staying in Santorini in a hotel without a pool at the prices of kavalari. Breakfast very limited and the rooms are not very nice. Very loud sounds coming from a parrot in the kitchen.

I Would not choose kavalari should i go back to Santorini. Choose a hotel with pool. The sea is not very nice so better to stay in a nice hotel with a pool for 2 days.. Just to see santorini's towns.

First, I should say that Santorini is not a great place to visit in August. Too many cruise ships and hordes of tourists following their flag-waving guides. It is picturesque but the crowds who trudged lemming-like to the end of the island to see the world famous sunset were not my cup of tea.

Now, the Kavalari: It was really nice. The check-in was very nice; the young lady and gentleman who worked the front desk could not have been more pleasant, and helpful. The young man who carried our too-heavy bags up and down the steps could not have been more good natured and friendly. The room was tiny, but it had a small table and two chairs on a balcony overlooking the caldera that was as good a place to watch the sunset as any in Oia. . The breakfast was excellent. Not a buffet; rather it was served on a tray with baked goods, cheeses, fruits and other fresh items. The breakfast area was also beautiful, perched on the side of the steeply pitched town of Fira, with views of other hotels, restaurants, pools and roof tops dropping down the edge of town.

Tips on Santorini: use the buses, don't try to use a car or taxi to get around the island. Try the Perivolos Beach. Definitely visit the Akrotiri and the museum in Fira. And if you go to Oia for the sunset in August, be prepared for not-always well-behaved crowds, jostling for best position, blocking each others views, clamoring up walls and stairways to watch the sun go down. The view from the patio at the Hotel Kavalari was just as good.

I loved staying at kavalari hotel ! Right in the center with amazing views !!! Breakfast was amazing. The room was beautiful and clean the kitchenette was super useful for small snacks and reheating food. If you can't climb stairs stay on a higher floor bc it's a step climb. When you walk out of the hotel you are in the middle of Fira with all the shops and restaurants all around. The hotel staff was beyond friendly and accommodating. AMAZING STAY !!
