Very cute hotel with helpful staff and close to the town. The rooms are very small though! But if you are going to Santorini, I imagine you are going to be out most of the day and night, so this shouldn't be a problem!

Great little family run boutique hotel..nothing was too much trouble for the proprietors..friendly and accommodating. .There are two separate buildings to galatia villas and upon reading some of the reviews before we travelled we were a little worried as some of the reviews led us to believe that this could be a bit of a problem..When in reality the buildings are 20 second walk apart from each other..We stayed in room 15 which is in the block away from the main hotel and the room was lovely and clean and spacious..nice hot shower..room cleaned daily and toes changed daily also..Our room was next to the shared roof terrace area with sunbeds and jacuzzi which we had all to ourself as it was a quiet time when we visited..The pool is in the main hotel building..on our previous visit to santorini we stayed on the caldera for the views.which you pay a hefty premium for but we found galatia villas a great base to discover the island as you are only a 10 minute or so walk into thira town centre or to bus station where you can catch busses which will take you to all the p,aces of info the island..pyrgos is a must..beautiful little village..The cost of staying at galatia villas is just so much value for money..If you want the caldera views you are no more than a 15-20 minute walk away..only thing I would say is if you are not to good on your feet this maybe not be the place for you unfortunately as there is a very steep incline from hotel to main road..but I stress this the only negative I can say about this hotel..We would gladly stay here again..If you opt to stay here or in surrounding area and if you like your cocktails paleakameni cocktail bar is a must visit..which is in thira..ask anybody in town centre and they will direct you there..

Although Galatia is close to the center of town, it is mostly uphill getting there. Make sure to bring a small flashlight if you are planning to walk back to the hotel at night. Our apartment unit was in a different building from the hotel. For the excellent pricing, we had a comfortable one bedroom apartment. We would probably not stay here again because of the uphill walk into town. Instead, we might splurge for a caldera view hotel in another town on Santorini.

Room Tip: Get a room in the main buidling.

Close to town, local restaurants and local transport. 10min walk to see the caldera view - must do at sunset.
Staff lovely, friendly and always on hand. Apartments quaint and tidy - all you need.
I would definitely go back here. Whilst not a beach holiday the scenery is to die for. Santorini is a beautiful place and Fira is a lovely capital.
Prices in bars can be expensive €20 for 2 vodkas and cokes, food is excellent though and well priced.
Try Character for fresh organic food and an amazing view, and a day trip to Oia is a must - picture postcard perfect!

A very nice place to stay with kind and accommodating staff. Our apartment was very clean and a well cared for property with beautiful flowers at the entrance. The hotel owner gave us a detailed map and clear instructions on how to navigate the town and where to go. I would definitely recommend this cute and pleasant place to stay!
